Very sad that someone had to

Very sad that someone had to die and i feel terrible for the Martin family, but there wasn't enough evidence to convict Zimmerman so he got off....simple as that the jury decided he was not guilty...and those people threatening Zimmermans life and saying they will kill him...what makes you any better than him? you doing the same thing...just makes me shake my head man...especially those people insuing violence by posting his adress on the internet

Okay, I don't not care for

Okay, I don't not care for news because they are completely garbage, created to shift the masses from what real world news should look like.

Sewok: 67 people were shot in Chicago last weekend..11 of them died. But the media can't get ratings without race baiting so this case was right up their alley.
BlueLaces: If only the media paid this much attention to every 17 year old black male that has ever been shot and killed. America would probably be a much safer place.

...

With that said, I went over the case on wikipedia and I think Zimmerman is not guilty.

Quick question who controls

Quick question who controls the media. Also just because the media pushed this does not make Zimmerman innocent of manslaughter. Why do people have to bring up stuff that has nothing to do with the case. People tend to talk about what they know or hear. If you never hear something, it would be hard to talk about it. Also I am black and black people talk about injustice against black people and black on black crime all the time. Anytime we mention some stuff to the public, they say we are whining on complaining.

Not to mention.... The news

Not to mention....

The news show a lot of "news" to make the 'stand-your-ground' and the 'right to bear weapon' law look dangerous and stupid......

They are trying to take away our guns, don't let them.

And to TOL23 "The criminal

And to TOL23

"The criminal justice system is built in such a way that nobody is guilty until proven guilty, because of that, individuals are not punished for what they did, RATHER WHAT CAN BE PROVEN"

This is how is supposed to be, however....

I
If you are detained, and accused of terrorist, -----the military can legally arrest you, INDEFINITELLY withOUT trial of jury.----- Yes.

That's why they implanted fear in the people with ''terrorism'' always in the news, so people would allow this law to be approved, afraid of these such "terrorist".

Bunch of (likely) suburban

Bunch of (likely) suburban white kids posting on a message board devoted to covering a sport played predominantly by young African American men, defending the outcome of a rigged trial of a man who shot a person who's only provable transgression was being a young African American man, and a minor at that. You all need your heads examined. George Zimmerman was guilty of manslaughter by his own admission of the circumstances. Trayvon Robinson had no weapon. He had a pocket full of candy. If you sympathize with George Zimmerman with a single shred of your conscience, you're interest in the NBA is fraudulent and hypocritical. Wipe your friggin Nerlens and Harden avatars off your profiles. Its an insult to them that you possess the opinions you do. idiots.

Absolutely no need to bring

Absolutely no need to bring race into this when it doesn't have to be an issue. Plus, you got Trayvon's last name wrong

I do not SYMPATHIZE with Zimmerman not one bit. Not one tiny minuscule bit. I am African American which REALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS.......but given the evidence they were provided the jury had NO EFFING CHOICE but to convict him not guilty. The injustice for Trayvon Martin was not in that court room but in the laws as they are written if anywhere. I'm trying to look at this with an unbiased opinion because lord knows if Trayvon were my son, or more likely little brother being that i'm 25, or even close friend Zimmerman would've never made it to trial because he would've been dead a year and a half ago. Even with that said I can put EMOTIONS aside and look at this from a legal standpoint.....from a legal standpoint he IS not guilty. The prosecutions whole case was based on emotions, what if's, and probably so's and that WILL NOT get it done in a court room.

Rest in peace Trayvon, if I could stop this awful thing from happening to you I would.

I disagree Nick, there was

I disagree Nick, there was enough evidence that he should have at least been convicted on manslaughter.

He was told not to follow him

Told not to confront. He did not listen and killed an unarmed kid. What more do you want? Guilty of manslaughter or 2nd degree. Something. The killings in Chicago are no big deal because the people dying are what? Black. Let 67 white people get capped its the national guard in there. I agree the media plays up race but race is the reason why these lives taken in chicago and other cities dont mean much. I want someone to tell me if a area in america had white death at the rate of chicago do u think national guard would be in there? No value on a black life. Zimmerman is not a racist just an idiot who got away with murder or a wrongful death because 5 white ladies and a black lady said so. American Justice system lol. Not the worse but its bs too.

Knowing that an unarmed kid

Knowing that an unarmed kid who was just walking home with candy is dead..Thats what makes this verdict so hard for many people to take......And a grown man that said he wouldn't change anything about that night is set free....And given back the same gun he used to kill the kid......

What makes this verdict

What makes this verdict so hard for alot of people is all of this could've been avoided..Alot of people are sick to their stomach ...To know that an unarmed kid walking home with candy while on the phone is dead...And the guy that killed him said that there is nothing he would change about that night, is set free and given back the same gun he used to kill the kid......

Sub Zero what the hell?

Sub Zero what the hell are you talking about? You're saying that you are not glad a 17 yr old is dead and that you just feel like there wasnt enough evidence while trying to sound so neutral about the case, yet you sound happy as hell that Zimmerman got off. You say its not about race but yet, you bring up a case about blacks beating up a white guy. What's the point? Everything you are saying is showing how you really feel. You say Trayvon Martin was involved in gang violence to degrade his character. He was not involved in gang violence, he simply got into a fight. I'm not scared to state how I feel about it, and I feel that Zimmerman was going to walk free the whole time. It doesnt matter how much people try to deflect it, but it was a race thing. Which it is majority of the time. Just like Nancy Grace stated, If this was a white 17yr old boy dead, the Black killer would not be free right now. The justice system is corrupt and has always been.
Zimmerman got out of car and followed a black boy because he felt he looked suspicious. (Because he was black) Zimmerman called the cops and was told to not follow the boy. Instead he continued to follow him. The boy was unarmed, the man was unarmed. Zimmerman admitted Trayvon was trying to get away from him. He's a 17 yr old being followed by a grown creepy looking man. He's scared for his life. Zimmerman is the aggressor here and he has the gun.
Whether there was a fight or not, Zimmerman got out of his car, followed a guy, killed him. Intentionally. No DNA on the gun from Trayvon. No DNA on Zimmerman from Trayvon. Zimmerman clearly instigated the whole situation. He's guilty! If he's not, then in the state of Florida, You can follow a teenage white boy, pick a fight with him, and then kill him because you felt your life was in danger. YEAH EFFING RIGHT! This entire case was BS and everyone knows. And I'm not racist at all. But I'm not blind to it at all either!

If Zimmerman wasnt guilty,

If Zimmerman wasnt guilty, then who was guilty? The person who died, that dealt out minor injuries in a fight that for no reason deserved a deadly gun shot? This is a product of the loopholes in laws that are supposed to protect people, but end up being used as a ploy, and it is rough.

But the prosecution couldnt win the case, and thats what its all about in the court system. I feel bad for the Martin family man.

As a UK based person, this

As a UK based person, this trial has picked up a fair amount of press and TV coverage in England. To give you some background over here, only certain police are allowed to carry firearms and these are only deployed for certain occasions If it comes to an order to fire this has to be given by a senior police officer.

To own a firearm you need certain licences and you have to belong to a gun club or use it to control/hunt certain animals (birds/rabbits) on private land, all fire arms must be kept in a secure lockable area when not in use. Anyone convicted of possession of an unlawful firearm gets a mandatory 5 year prison term.

There have been lots of calls for people to be able to defend their homes etc in the UK and to arm the police but that would be a big decision especially when you consider this case.

There is a potential race issue here with the shooting being between an hispanic and a black person, if it had been two people of the same ethnic group then the outcry would have been a lot less. The guy was found not guilty, but when the victim ran off I do wonder why the defendant persued him as the victim had not done anything as far as we know, the defendant was not a policeman so to me that is rather disturbing.

I am not going to get into the Florida laws, LA reaction or how many people were sadly killed in Chicago but overall the case was a tradegy and both families will have to live with this for the rest of their lives.

"Having your hood on when

"Having your hood on when it's pitch black gives the impression that you have something to hide, regardless of color of skin."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was raining...having a hood on when it is raining is not suspicious except to someone who is very paranoid

"If Zimmerman approached him and Trayvon proceeded to run away, wouldn't there be a reason he's running away?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use your head. The reason he was running away might have something to do with a strange man following him.

"Oh, and Zimmerman came out of it beat up, so it's not like he hunted him down like a defenseless dog. A credible eye witness said that he saw Zimmerman on the bottom getting beaten."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This just keeps getting more and more stupid. So because Trayvon was a well built teenager who could defend himself that gives some wannabe cop the right to shoot him in cold blood? I guess anybody capable of physically defending themselves should be gunned down then.

"For those who think Zimmerman was really guilty, trust me, let it go. If he was lying & they got it wrong he WILL answer to a higher authority - there's no escaping that."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Save me your religious/spiritual speech. Not everybody believes in a "higher authority". We are not guaranteed of any life after death, all we are guaranteed is what we have in this world. And in this world Trayvon Martin and his family and loved ones were denied justice and it's a travesty.

Sad to see this happen, my heart aches for him and I'm reminded of many other tragedies that have happened to young people in this country under the guise of rule of law. RIP Emmett Till, Natasha Harlins, Trayvon Martin, and every other person I don't know of or don't have time to name of every color, creed and gender in this nation.

You are about as misinformed as they come. You pertain to know our ages, our genders, our backgrounds and just about everything else about the people on this web site. You also speak like you must've been in the same Bradford neighborhood on the night in question.

Apparently you are the only here who has the right to express their oppinion. You are such a fake... if you weren't behind a computer screen you wouldn't have the balls to express your immature generalizations created in your small poisoned mind.

Don't know where to start

Don't know where to start with this one. People can express whatever opinion they like.

But people who hobbyize following pro basketball while simultaneously acquiescing to institutionalized racism and oppression of black people by the criminal justice system piss me off. Like you implied through sarcasm, we're all entitled to our opinion.

Was my post an emotional response? absolutely. Guilty as charged. Sorry if it mislead you as to how I percieve the content of your character, which is not at all, because I dont know you.

But LOL at the good old "..if you weren't behind a computer screen" accusation. keep in mind, you know as little about me as I do about you.

I Live in Orlando, Sanford is

I Live in Orlando, Sanford is only a few miles from me...So i've followed this case since the start..And talked often with some lawyer friends of mine....The laws in florida favored the defense, but there was also enough evidence to charge him with 2nd degree murder and manslaugther...It was left up to the jury to decide..And with a mostly all white jury from a city thats 80% white, years of racial injustice in Sanford and 3 of the jurors being gun owners..The outcome didnt surprise me....

Zimmerman was guily of manslaughter by his own words...

The laws in this country are in place to favor the rich, famous or white...If you happen to be black, hispanic, gay, pregnant or poor you have 0 rights beyond the right to live oppressed....Before people jump up and say "but Zimmerman was Hispanic" I reply by saying this, when was the last time an Hispanic male walked away scott free after shooting someone in cood blood and by his own admission causing said shooting by following a unarmed teenager...Its never happened in America, Zimmerman was allowed to walk away the night he shot and killed Trayvon because he looked white and had the last name Zimmerman(which is clearly German or Jewish AKA WHITE!!!)

And he was acquitted not because he was innocent of the crimes he was charged for but because he represented a large majority of Pro Gun/ Pro 2nd ammendmant/ Pro racial and social oppression...To find Zimmermann guilty would have sent a shock wave accross the country that Gun Laws need to be ammended for MODERN TIMES...Instead he is declared innocent and the Pro Gun lobbyist win another battle in the war for Gun Control...

What angers me is the lack of fight left in our country...We are literally living in a society where we are openly being monitored and spied on, controlled by media outlets and mega corporations who plan on keeping us in line while they rape the planet of its resources. ...We are being oppressed and we don't do a thing about

I agree with 100% of what

I agree with 100% of what llperez and joewolf1 have posted in this thread.

Something is wrong when an armed man, who isn't even a real cop, can ignore REAL law enforcers and still follow a teenager just because he's black and wearing a hoodie while it's ***raining*** outside. Martin wasn't doing anything suspicious or illegal. Just walking home. Martin wasn't busting someone's window, trying to hijack of car, climbing over someone's fence or you know... Doing things that actually look criminal.

The kid ran... Well, sh*t... I'd run if a man, *who didn't even identify himself*, was following/approaching me too when it's dark and raining out. This wasn't a man in a police car or with a siren.

Zimmerman ends up getting his ass beat by Martin, who's probably scared as sh*t and just trying to protect himself, and Zimmeran gets to KILL him and claim it as self defense??? No weapon on Martin. Martin's DNA not on Zimmerman's weapon. Zimmerman with injuries that didn't even require a hospital visit. Zimmerman gets off and gets to keep living his life, while Martin is dead and his family has to live with sadness for the rest of their lives because they lost their son.

Something is wrong here...

See people get me wrong

I agree that something is wrong with the outcome of this situation. I just understand why it ended the way it did. I explained it before but am gonna explain it again. To convict manslaughter (the only thing they had a shot at) they needed to prove that 1. Martin is dead and 2. Zimmerman caused martins death in an unlawful situation.....in other words that zimmerman shot him under any cirucumstance that wasn't otherwise proven to be self defense. They couldn't convict him on anything because they didn't prove beyond a resonable doubt that he WASN'T acting in self defense bottom line. You can speculate that he didn't shoot him in self defense, it may look like he POSSIBLY or even PROBABLY started started the altercation which throws out self defense but it just wasn't CERTAINLY proven. They couldn't prove that Zimmerman ever laid a hand on Trayvon but it was proven the other way around with abrasions on Martin's knuckles and damage to Zimmerman's face and back of head. They suspected Zimmerman escalated the confrontation to violence but they couldn't prove it which means they had no case.

I hope people don't think I'm defending what Zimmerman did because I am not, I thought I made that perfectly clear. I just understand why verdict was what it was and it wasn't the jury that failed Trayvon. It was the prosecution.

Nick at no point should be

Nick at no point should be allow to follow a person and when you are losing a fight with that person shoot them. They had a conversation before the fight even started. Something had to have been done or said to where it went from a conversation and then a fight. This is at least manslaughter. The logic you are using, we should be able to get the majority of people in jail off. The DNA evidence that has been used to get people in and out of jail did not show where Trayvon grabbed his weapon. Also his injuries were not even serious considering he supposedly was having he head beat against the sidewalk. Isn't it funny when Trayvon asks why he was following him, Zimmerman did not tell him he was neighborhood watch. You would think that would be the first thing that would come out of his mouth yet he never at anytime mentioned he said that. Also how could Trayvon had a conversation with him then all of the sudden jump out the bushes and surprise him. Something is up with that.

Keep in mind... I took everything you said into consideration and it didn't concern me. It's a little man that does the generalizing behind the monitor so in a way you did offered a glimpse of who you are. It's also pretty telling as you back pedal like a cornerback.

You know what is weird, I

You know what is weird, I remember when people were saying Pau Gasol was white on this site, and their even was a debate by Skip Bayless about wanting Blake Griffin to be considered white yet Zimmerman who is half white can not be consider white by any instances. I just think it is funny how there is pick and choose situation.

this isn't the logic that i'm using

This is the logic that was used in that courtroom. That's all I'm saying. You're right that it's wrong. But there's no law saying you can't see someone in your neighborhood where you live and go up to them ask them "hey i've never seen you before what are you doing here?" There's no law saying you can't do that. There's no LAW saying that you can't argue with someone. Because of that it didn't start getting unlawful until punches were thrown. Who started throwing punches? We really don't know. Since we don't know that's why it ended the way it did.

I don't like

that they considered Zimmerman white because the media did so JUST TO MAKE this a racial issue for ratings which causes a unnecessary divide in the community. Blacks on one side of the case, Whites on the other stirring the pot to keep racism going. I know this mexcian who's half white who you wouldn't know he had a ounce of white in him he looks and sounds full blown mexican.

I think most of yall are

I think most of yall are missing the point if he had any part in how the fight started, then there is no way he can claim self defense. Logic would dictate there is no way Trayvon who was minding his own business until he was followed started the fight. We don't have to know the exact details to know that it makes no sense that he made the first move unprovoked after initially running. He then questioned Zimmerman who by his own account never mentioned he who he was. Zimmerman was not even on duty. Anywhere else this would not fly. You have so called super heroes in Seatle and they can't legally carry firearms and shoot someone if they are trying to stop a crime because they are no police. They would be putting purposely putting themselves in a position where they may have had to use deadly force and it would be them putting themselves in that position which would mean they caused the altercation and claiming self defense would not fly. Zimmerman supposedly did not even use the stand your ground law unless they lied about that.

If this doesn't

explain why the verdict was what it was and why the jury had no choice but to convict not guilty i don't know what to tell you. Yes Zimmerman was wrong, yes it sucks, but this was the only way this could've ended given the evidence provided i'm sorry.

@Scarecrow Exactly, and it's

@Scarecrow

Exactly, and it's the government that prevents us from rising up and doing something. It's bullsh*t propaganda that brainwashes the citizens into spying against each other, and interfering into others lives. Just look at all these comercials they have on TV now. "If you see something, do something" or what ever. There wasn't a scintilla of doubt in my mind that Zimmerman was going to get off, because if he didn't, how could the country continue advertise this type of action?

Heres a link to the videos I was talking about. I see at least 5 of these a day in the short amount of time I spend in front of my tv…Just imagine the effect this type of propaganda is having on some people. It almost reminds me of the scene in 1984 where winston talks about his neighbors, and how they are scared of their kids because they might rat them out for "doublethink", or going against the parties mentalities. 1984 is a book that all posterity should read, because it's sickening just how much of it is becoming true in "the land of the free".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OseX44SfHHA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qml7obNdmgk

BTW, lets get rid of these stupid hyphenations. I don't care if you're african-american, hispanic-american, european-american ect...If you're american you're american. Too much injustice is served in this world over a stupid hyphenation...

So many people are upset, but

So many people are upset, but why? Because the media TOLD us to care. But what about all the kids dying from US drone attacks? What about all the people we unfairly target in door-to-door raids in middle east countries like Afghanistan? What about drug prohibition unfairly targeting minorities and fueling violence? What about all the other injustices in the world? It's time society cares more about them too.
