clw5382ParticipantSimmons – 15p 9r 6a
Dunn – 15p 6a 5r
Hield – 13p 4r 2a
Ingram – 11p 4r 2a
I’ll go with Dunn as the ROY because his team will win more and his stats will be similar to Simmons.
I do think that Simmons will be the best player when all is said and done though.
Thoughts? Your Stat Projections?

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantI think he’ll get closer to 12-13ppg 5-7 RPG and 5-7 assist ….
He still be Rookie of the Year for anyone that cares about awards
I think people are sleeping on the Big men Philadelphia can roll out there platoon style…
Okafor and Noel are good for almost 20 rebounds per game combined, throw in Joel Embiid who’ll be hungry to prove himself and Saric who is himself an aggressive rebounder… Ben will have to fight for the ball on this squad, they’ll be no shortage of extra possessions in Philly

DanielcmccartyParticipantI think if we take what we have seen in summer league, Simmons will probably average 9 assists per game. But may not score as much as people would like the number one overall pick to score. It’s summer league, so it’s kinda pointless to base much off this. They are rookies and learning the NBA game.
What I can say for sure, is Simmons has had about 4 assists every game wiped away by bigs not finishing or catching the ball. Noel and Embid if healthy can catch a lot of higher percentage lobs rather then the dump off passes he’s throwing to smaller less athletic bigs in the summer league. They will tell Simmons to shoot that ball more. He will come around. But he’s a pass first/make the right play type of player and that’s how he’s played his whole life. Lebron is the same way and he’s doing okay.

DanielcmccartyParticipantAnd before I get Negged like crazy for saying 9 assists per game. I’ll say that it isn’t out of the question for a guy with elite passing and ball handling ability, 6’10 240, and a reluctance as big as Rondos to absolutely not shoot the jumper to average a lot of assists because he’s choosing not to shoot. Sometimes over passing isn’t the right play, so I’m saying he will average 9 because he simply won’t shoot and has a lot of bigs to feed.

220ParticipantIt’s certainly possible as you said Ben Simmons is an outstanding passer and a reluctant shooter. Hopefully the 76ers coaching staff can help increase Simmons ability to shoot and his willingness to shoot as well. There was probably at least 5 times last night versus the Lakers where he would’ve been better shooting rather than passing. If Simmons is shooting comfortably within 20 feet and hitting floaters as he attacks the paint when the season starts that would be good progress.

holefillers1Participant3ast will be on lobs to Nerlens. If the team has a good shooting night then he might end up with 15+ dimes. I do think he will average around 7 or 8 boards. Now as far as scoring, Simmons needs to get his FT% up to around 75. He has been able to get to the line but is converting at a low percentage. This would certainly take care of some of Ben’s scoring until the rest of his game matures.

sweaterflexParticipantSimmons: 13 ppg, 6 apg, 8 rpg. I’m assuming one of the bigs is traded and Simmons mostly defends 4s.
Ingram: 12 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 37% from 3. Splits time with Deng, who will play some small ball 4.
Jaylen Brown: 8 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 42% from the field. Seventh or eighth in the rotation.
Bender: 8.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2 apg. Plays more than Chriss, impresses with his ball skills and passing.
Dunn: 11 ppg, 5 apg, 4 rpg. Plays behind Rubio until Rubio is traded at the deadline.
Murray: 10 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.5 apg. Plays a little over 20 minutes a night, crowded backcourt.
Hield: 15 ppg, 3 rpg, 38% from 3. Starts, but is relatively inefficient.
Chriss: 6 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 34% from 3. Shows flashes, but is incredibly lost on defense.
Poetl: 8 ppg, 5 rpg, 55% from the field. People whisper that maybe JoVal should be traded.
Maker: 7.5 ppg, 4 rpg, 1 bpg. Bucks outperform expectations, Maker gets more playing time after John Henson is traded.
Rookies whose stock will rise:Wade Baldwin and Deyonta Davis (Grizz are shallow, great picks), Brice Johnson, and Patrick McCaw.
Rookies whose stock will fall: Malachi Richardson
