I know its really early for this but I compiled players who I think will be at the top of the Big East next year. Consider the first 6 guys the 1st team, next 5 guys 2nd team, and final 5 guys 3rd team.

    G Jeremy Lamb, UConn

    G Peyton Siva, Lville

    G Darius Johnson-Odom, Marquette

    G Maalik Wayns, Villanova

    F Kris Joseph, Syracuse

    F Tim Abromitis, Notre Dame

    G Scoop Jardine, Syracuse

    G Jason Clark, Georgetown

    F Cleveland Melvin, Depaul

    F Moutoph Yarou, Villanova

F Terrence Jennings(I think he will end up staying), Lville

    G Vincent Council, Providence

    F Jae Crowder, Marquette

    C Gilvydas Biruta, Rutgers

    C Khem Birch, Pitt

    C Alex Oriakhi, UConn

You like Vincent Counsil? I never have liked his game. He’s a chucker to me, who shouldn’t have taken nearly as many shots as he did. He also struggled when he matched up with quality guards in the Big East.

What about Gibbs?  If he stays he needs to be on the list.

You don’t think Dante Taylor will have a break out season next year as an upperclassman? You have Khem Birch making 3rd team ahead of him…you must either be real high on Khem and/or real low on Taylor, since I see Taylor getting a lot of more minutes next year. The Pitt way is to have guys grow in the program and really improve as upperclassman and become leaders for their team.

In regards to Council, he has solid ability and size for a point guard, and could really drop some nice dimes. He just an awful decision maker at times. If you’re projecting solid growth in his game, I could see why you’d have him there.

SHU don’t get no respeck.  He led the Big East in rebounds 2 years ago, got third last year but hindered by heart problems and the fact that his team kind of sucked.  Is also good for 10-15 points a game.

I think the list is pretty good and the big east definitely wont be down next year. Keep in mind that there are several freshman that will breakout and could be on this list. Its just harder to put a high school player on a list such as All-Big East. Players like Birch, Wayne Blackshear, Chane Behanan, Rakeem Christmas, Michael Carter-Williams, and maybe one or two of the St. John’s signees all have the "potential" to be All-Big East players.

Jae Crowder is a hell of a basketball player. He does a little of everything and has a very high basketball IQ. I get to see a lot of Marquette games and he is fun to watch. Built like a sh.ithouse too.

Herb Pope, Micheal Carter-Williams, Brandon Young and Shabazz Napier barely missed the cut. I am also saying that Kevin Jones and Gibbs are staying in the draft. Dante Taylor is behind Nasir Robinson as the first big and he didnt impress me at all last year. I have Jae Crowder on the third team, I really like his game.

In regards to Vincent Council I absolutely hate him, being a fan of the Providence Friars I’ve seen every one of his games and he is a chucker and and turns the ball over way too much. But, he has an unbelievable knack for getting to the basket and is a pretty good shooter. Without Marshon Brooks there he could get more than 15ppg. Also his assists will go up because Brooks created his own offense and Council got his assists passing to Batts, Mondy, and Coleman who are all returning. If Coleman finally finds his jumpshot he could end up on the third team as well.
