kobyzParticipant1. Alec Burks – excellent athlete, very smooth with the ball creating, amazing at attacking the rim and in the open floor, jumper and range not fully there but show promise, a little immature defensively right now and lacks some fundamentals but compete hard, still has a lot of room to grow as a player. perfect comparison: Jerry Stackhouse
2. Jordan Hamilton – maybe fit better to the SF position but i insert him here anyway, a pure scorer, complete and quality, made a lot of strides in the past year, learn the team aspect of the game and now more mature. perfect comparison: Danny Granger/Stephen Jackson
3. Klay Thompson – SG with nice size, a talented offensive player, other than being a superb outside shooter with picture perfect shot he has some herky-jerky off the dribble game and a little PG like passing ability. perfect comparison: Steve Smith
4. Marshon Brooks – long, energetic two guard, super active player all over the board, skilled and unanticipated with the ball in his hands. perfect comparison: Josh Howard
5. Tyler Honeycutt – swingman that could play both wing position, right now not definite and raw as a player but has large amount of talent, can shot the long ball, pass, has some hidden of the dribble game in him and can make athletic defensive plays. perfect comparison: Dorell Wright

JoeWolf1I think Honeycut is a SG, he’s 6’8”, but he’s built like Kevin Martin, I think he’d get beat up playing the 3 in the NBA.

kobyzParticipant@symbol, the Nicolas Batum comparison is what i have for his best case scenario, but for this to happened he should make very big improvment on defense cause Batum is elite defender, right now Dorell Wright comparison fit better imo!0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/18/2011 - 5:01am #546577
gatorheelsParticipantI got Klay Thompson as my #1 ranked SG

JNixonParticipantHoneycutt plays like a SF, but he does need alot more weight and strength before he’s ready to play there. Jordan Hamilton is a swingman, but I think it’s 50/50 on what position he defends. He has the size to defend SFs, but his offensive game looks like that of a SG.

Mr. JewboyParticipantDoes Marshan Brooks remind anyone of Jodie Meeks?

scoutguruParticipantMarshon is a lil more creative off the dribble than a Jodie Meeks is.
And I still hold that Honeycutt is a Doug Christie type player. I think he’ll probably eventually be able to shoot it better than Doug did, but I see that type of multi-skilled/faceted player in him. And I think he can slide between both sg and sf positions dependent on the matchups. I think he’s more interchangeble than Hamilton.
I agree with that statement though Iggy about Hamilton. But I still think he’s primarily a 3. Seems like a cross between Danny Granger and Dennis Scott, with his spot up and post up ability.
And Kobyz, we’re yet to see if Brooks can do all the different things that Josh Howard proved he brings to the table. I don’t know how good off a rebounder, slasher with and w/o the ball, defender of both 2/3’s that Howard showed. Also Howard played with an edge and toughness to him that I don’t know if Brooks will bring. And Brooks is a natural 2, Howard is a 3. So idk if I like that comp so much..
