Everyone is playing the guess who for this years draft.  Here is top 5 dominos to fall.

Celtics pick Fultz.  Plan to get bigger next yr with top pick

Lakers pick Jackson or Ball (1st domino)  Magic likes adding competitors and Jackson has it

76ers pick Jackson or Fox (2nd domino)  Fultz and Jackson off the table by then.

Suns pick Tatum or Ball.  Suns always go for another scorer.

Kings pick Ball or Fox.  Kings are the team nearest the bottom in talent and a "Ball drop" would be a Lavars secret back up plan to land in Cali.

After all the hype of whos who i think Fox is most overrated to land top 3 while Tatum is most underrated to land top 3.  Fox game is more one dimensional while Tatums scoring abilty is multi D.  Biggest bust potential could be Ball or Jackson.  Todays game is all about the sweet jumper.  Every other attribute is a distant 2nd

Playing D is the most important skill, being able to switch out to the perimeter while guarding multiple positions.  BBIQ is my second most important skill. Shooting comes third for me and only if you have the pre-requisite skills listed above, if not then I go ball handling and finishing ability then shooting.

Essentially if a top prospect can’t defend or dribble drive then I could care less how he shoots.  BBIQ is a bit redundant, I’m talking about switching on D, playing off ball with picks, screens and cuts to the basket.

You won’t beat GSW by matching their shooters.  You need to play the their style of positionless ball and slow the pace of the game down on their end.  Still need shooting but playing good D and turning GSW’s long shots into transition points is a solid recipe for success.

My top 5 dominoes to fall

Celtics: Fultz, I hope they keep him, but trade other pieces to get that star, another star joining could force them to do this, ala Cavs when Lebron signed in 2014 forcing them to trade rookie Wiggins to the Wolves for Love.

Lakers: Ball, He likes Magic, told him he looks up to him as a mentor. This "marriage" has been arranged since this draft started pretty much. I wouldn’t even say "arranged marriage" is the right term. Even Ball, himself (not his father) wants to play for the Lakers. It also would give the Lakers another star, and may allow them to trade for the star veteran player that can help finally take the next step and become the new showtime Lakers

Sixers: Fox, I know he supposedly can’t shoot and that’s what the 76ers need since they are going Ben Simmons as a point forward next year, but the Coach forces this pick to happen. He wants defenders and "men" Shotting is secondary or even tertiary, if you want to get technical, for him. Simmons is still used as a point forward. He will the ball up the court on offense and instigate but on defense Fox is asked to guard the opposing team’s point guard. Fox’s shooting is non-existant. Jackson would be flushed out of that team because of two things; he plays the same position as their star Ben Simmons, and he hasn’t fully developed his shot yet. He will need a shooting coach to teach him and help him with his form before he gets there.

Suns: Jackson, Perfect defensive player (for now) that fits right alongside Booker perfectly. He won’t be asked to shoot his first years in the league, he’ll be asked to defend. This pushes Warren to the bench and forces the Suns to trade Dudley.

Kings: Smith, I know all of you are thinking what about Tatum. He is also a thought but the Kings realize that unless they get a PG now, all of them will be gone by 10. Magic will grab either Tatum or Smith whoever is available. They don’t like Payton, the writing has been on the wall ever since the coaching change was made. The Magic have a new GM who will want to get his own PG. That might be Smith, if he’s available, and the GM likes him. Wolves will select either Smith or Monk, whoever is available. They have been wanting to get rid of Rubio too. Last year they were hoping to use Dunn, but then they realized he’s not a good PG, and now want one instead. Monk isn’t technically a point guard but Fox has credited with developing a second skill, he may develop this skill in the NBA. The Knicks are also looking to find a PG that can start their triangle offense. Its either Monk or Ntilikina. The Mavs also like Ntilikina, they’ve scouted him the most even more than the Knicks. But they may end up getting Isaac or Markannen because Ntilikina is gone. So by the time the Kings are on the clock again, Ball, Fox, Smith, Monk, Ntilikina are all gone. If you think Fultz is a PG then he’s gone too. The next best point guard is Evans, Jackson, Sumner or Morris and they are all late first to early second round picks. So clearly not best player available at 10. Way to early. Thus forcing the Kings to get their PG with the 5th pick, and using the 10th pick on a PF or SF. (another need)

PF isn’t a need. Your logic is opposite. More guards than elite SFs will push the Kings to select SF at 5 and PG at 10 hopefully

Fox won’t likely go top 3 unless Sac makes the move to 3. But there is a strong feeling that he would go 4 if Ball is gone.

Philly would be best served taking Jackson if he falls to them despite not being the best fit but having the best star upside. But if he goes 2nd. all bets are off on Philly keeping that pick where they could get Tatum or Monk at 5 and either trade the 10 or use it on the bpa by taking the deal Sac is throwing at them.
