CameronCrazy11ParticipantHere’s what I would put. Most of these have been stated many, many times. Keep in mind as well that these are all considered best-case scenarios, not realistic scenarios.
1. Jabari Parker-Carmelo Anthony
2. Joel Embiid-Hakeem Olajuwon
3. Andrew Wiggins-Paul George/Clyde Drexler
4. Marcus Smart-Jason Kidd/Chauncey Billups
5. Dante Exum-Penny Hardaway
6. Noah Vonleh-Chris Bosh/Jamal Mashburn
7. Julius Randle-Zach Randolph (more athletic)
8. Rodney Hood-Rashard Lewis/Sean Elliott
9. Gary Harris-Hersey Hawkins
10. Doug McDermott-Wally SzczerbiakI tried to use stats as well as “scouting reports” I’ve made from watching these guys this season.

Ebown5ParticipantI like your list, but I would say that Smart being compared to Billups is a bit strange as Billups was a terrific shooter.
I think that Randle compares more to a young Derrick Coleman than Zach Randolph, specifically due to his handles and shooting touch.
A good comparison for Wiggins that I have never seen anyone make before is Julius Erving. Not sure that he will ever have the floor game of a Drexler.

CameronCrazy11ParticipantI’d agree with pretty much everything you said. I probably should’ve elaborated more on some of these.
Smart is probably the hardest guy to find a comparison for because he is such a unique player. I should’ve said a young Jason Kidd for shooting, Chauncey Billups for the intangibles/PG skills, and a combination of the two for his defense.
Derrick Coleman was a close second for me with Randle. I probably should’ve put Randolph/Coleman looking at it in hind sight.
I also strongly considered Dr. J for Wiggins as well. I definitely agree that Wiggins will most likely never have the floor game of Drexler. That was the one area that left me wondering if there was a better comparison.

max23ParticipantBig fan of Wiggins, but Clyde Drexler averaged 5.6 asts per game for his whole career, with a high of 8!!Wiggins hasnt shown that kind of ability of making as a playmaker(1.6 asts,2.2 tos),which makes this comparison or the TMac comparison weird.Even Paul George averaged 4.1 asts a game last year. Not saying he cant become that good at making his teammates better, but he hasnt shown that potential, regardless how high he can jump or how fast his first step is.
So being honest you have to compare him to a scoring sf,so Rudy Gay since hes been in Sacramento(49.2 fg%) isnt a bad comparison eventually(although Wiggins is probably not shooting over 45% until he gets stronger and can finish better at the rim),with better defense.
I like the Sean Elliot comparison for Hood.+1 for that one.
Marcus Smart reminds me of Rose at Memphis,a less explosive Rose who plays better defense and takes way dumber shots.

King CaluchaParticipantI don’t think Exum plays like Penny Hardaway at all. I think people are comparing them just because of the similar size. Penny was a fantastic playmaker equiped with elite court vision. Exum doesn’t have that mindset. Again, I’m not talking about ceiling, I’m talking about style of play. However, I do see some early John Wall in his game: somewhat inconsistent jumpshot, a little reckless as a playmaker, elite athleticism and length for a PG.
Also, I still don’t understand why Smart is being compared to Jason Kidd. They are both be 6’4” and may have great rebounding instincts, but that’s it. Smart will never be a pass-first PG. I even see him spending some time at the 2 like Chauncey, which is a better comparison, but not great either.

theballerwayParticipantPenny Hardaway was an allround athlete, who could legitmately play and defend 3 positions. Who played above the rim as well as the differences you mentioned. Exum seems quick but not explosive at all more shifty amd crafty if you will . Im gonna say taller Tony Parker.
