Top 10 players in Pacific Division

Top NBA players, not most valuable, not most popular, just the best basketball players. WHEN healthy*.

1) Kobe -

2) Gasol

3) Steve Nash -still ballin it up

4) Tyreke Evans

5) Andrew Bynum

6) Stephen Curry

7) Monta Ellis

8) Lamar Odom

9) Ron Artest

10) Baron Davis/Jason Richardson (wouldve said Turkoglu too, 2 years ago but hes fallen off the face of earth in terms of the NBA,played good in the Worlds)

-Notes:

1)Blake Griffin still is unproven,so cant put him up there

2) If turkoglu regains Magic days' form, he is top 10

3) Eric Gordon is just on the outside looking in

4) Its hard to put Fisher up there, hes a great player but hes more of a VALUABLE player then a All-Star type player. If there was top 10 MVP list for the Pacific division, he would be top 5.

5) Artest/Odom can be inter-changed really.

Any thoughts?

Oh I forgot David Lee is now a warrior. Ya hes Top 7 easy.

@kurtu17---- You can make a real good case for Eric Gordon at 8-10,I wouldnt mind that, but he needs to step it up this year though

@nycrealdeal and @kurtu17 --- I totally forgot about Kaman.I had hi min my thoughts, I skipped. I think hes a very good player, but since hes on the clippers, he kind of was a benefeciary on being on a sucky team thus getting alot of PT and points. But hes Top 10 easy.

@nycrealdeal---Bynum on the Clippers WHEN healthy would be averaging 20-10 easy, just like Kaman. But on the Lakers hes on a loaded squad, hes the 3rd option at BEST at all times, usually 4th/5th though. So for him to go to clippers where hell be #2 for example (on last years squad), his avg's would be up significantly. Its also not only the points, his rebounds would be 12+ easy. Think about it,hes on a team with one of the Top 2 best roubounding PF's in the game (Gasol, who is not the best, but top 5 easy, and Lamar Odom who is just a beast on the boards...not to mention Artest/Kobe who in their own rights are Abv Avg rebounders)....

Ya I guess you can but Ellis,Kaman, and Curry abv bynum in terms of stats, but in terms of best NBA players on the floor when healthy, I would have to disagreee

So here is my revised top 10 b/c I frogot a few and changed my mind on some

1)Kobe

2)Gasol

3)Nash

4)T. Evans

5) Kaman -Gets spot over bynum b/c of stats

6) Bynum

7)Curry

8) Ellis---Ellis/Curry for now can be inter-changable

9)Odom (maybe Switched w D. Lee, dont know, cuz I think Odom, just like Bynum, is a victim of lesser stats on a Good team compared to Better stats on a bad team---Odom In NY last year wouldve avged easily 18-12+,5+,same with if he was in Warriors this year Imho)

10)D Lee //Artest//

Honorable mentions: E. Gordan (almost top 10),B. Davis, J. Rich,Turkoglu

I can name like 20 players

I can name like 20 players the Lakers would trade Fisher for just within the Pacific division so how valuable is he. And I expect Blake Griffin to be the 5th member of that least before the end of the season. And Kamen and Lee have to be on there.

huh?

Whats so bad with Fisher, hes a great player. But hes not a Stats-type of guy, and has never been.

Hes more Valuable to the Lakers then Ellis is to the Warriors, Kaman to Clippers, etc.

Only Players I would say that are more valuable than him are

1)Kobe, 2) Gasol, 3)Evans, 4)Curry,5) Nash (for all obvious reasons, either Franchise player or Future of team)

All other players not listed abv on all other (pacific) teams are replaceable in terms of Value.

@mr 19134

Ya Look at my Updated List, forgot abt Kaman and Lee

2) Ya I know Lakers would Trade Fisher for Evans for Exmaple, duh,who wouldnt.

But the Fact is,Fisher has been a HUGE reason for the Lakers recent Success. Hes stepped it up BIG time in the playoffs each year. I dont care what he does in the season as long as he steps up in the playoffs. I dont Judge his VALUE (dont get it twisted people, Value is way different than stats, and by MVP i meant Most Valuable player, not MVP as in NBA MVP which is a popularity/stats contest for the most part)

Fishers Value to the lakers on a scale of 100 is easily at a 88-90 (If we take Kobe's Value to be at 100,Gasols at 95,Currys/Evans at 95,Nash's at 99 for a quick example)

All im saying is Fisher is not a stats guy, more of a value guy. Value sometimes over stats is more important people.

Fisher hits huge shots in

Fisher hits huge shots in clutch situations, but he's not a stat guy cuz he's just not that good. He don't even get a lot of assists or steals, but he is a great on ball defender. But the Lakers aren't that invested in Fisher. The only reason he is even back on that team is because of Kobe. Remember they casted him off to Utah a few years ago, and Kobe told them he wanted him back as a condition to his contract extension.

I like your top ten list and it just goes to show how stacked the Lakers are.

But it's funny how you said all that stuff about if Bynum was on the Clippers he would average more points and rebounds because he is the better player then in your revised list you put Kamen a head of Bynum anyway. I'm conflicted on Bynum he could be 4th on that list but he can't stay healthy.

I would put Kamen above Bynum because he is more consitant and has proven he can be a 20 and 10 while Bynum is still all potential depsite being in the league for 6 seasons now. A healthy Bynum on the Clippers however I think could average 21 and 12.

And I would put Lee above Odom because of Lee's motor. Odom don't have the motor to be a 20 and 10 guy like Lee was last year. He had his chances on the Clippers and on that Heat team before he got traded for Shaq.

Also Baron Davis should be in consideration too from a pure basketball player standpoint. When that guy is on he is about as hard to stop as anybody in the league. When he was on the Warriors he would of probably been 5 on that list.

Blake Griffin will be top ten I am warning now he is the real deal ROY.

@19134

Very good analysis. All your points make alot of sense.

Just two things

1) Lakers really didnt cast fisher off, Fisher left on his own. He was a FA and looking for $$ and playing time. Lakers had Gary Payton lets not forget (the season before Fisher left). I am sure If Fisher had known GP wouldve been traded eventually, he wouldve stayed.

2) As of now, Kaman gets the nod just b/c he has the stats/consistency to back it up. Bynum imho is a better Center,he just is a victim of being on a good team (and his helath of course).

-And yes to all of you, Griffin could easily be on this list by the end of the year and possibly cousins too.
