The PER (player efficiency rating) is the best way, in theory, to measure a player statistically. It takes into account all the important stats(field goals, assists) along with the negative ones (missed field goals, turnovers, etc..). However, the worst the about the PER is that it doesn’t measure defense. With that being said, here are the most efficient players are as follows.

    1. Michael Jordan 27.91
    2. LeBron James 26.86
    3. Shaquille O’Neal 26.59
    4. David Robinson 26.18
    5. Wilt Chamberlain 26.13
    6. Dwyane Wade 25.67
    7. Bob Pettit 25.37
    8. Tim Duncan 25.02
    9. Neil Johnston 24.72
    10. Charles Barkley 24.63

    Honorable mentions:
    11. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 24.58
    12. Magic Johnson 24.11
    18. Kobe Bryant 23.50
    19. Larry Bird 23.50

Do you guys agree with this rating system, or you don’t like it? Personally, I find it to be quite accurate.

    2)Lebron James

    Then a huge gap…..

    18) Kobe Bryant

You tell me if its accurate? Is Lebron that much better than Kobe? Stats doesnt tell the whole story.

It’s merely a stat to measure efficiency, not rings or winning for that matter. Don’t make it more than what it actually is.

Edit: Personally, I would say LeBron is more efficient than Kobe. Way more efficient. I love Kobe as a basketball player, but it’s the truth.

YES, Lebron is a more “efficient” player than Kobe, we all know that. So what does that mean?

It means he helps his team more than hurts it. So far in his career, he has helped his team more than another player, in being efficient, other than MJ. He’s only 26, so his PER might drop, but I doubt it will drop out of the top 10.

Just wondering, but who in the league now has the worst PER? I’d just like to know the guy that is the best at being the worst for his team lol.

Deshawn Stevenson had a 3.3 PER this past season. I remember he had something like a 2.something when he was traded. Thats the lowest Ive ever seen.

Lebron at 2nd most efficient doesnt suprise me, he brought his team to the finals as a one-man army aganist the Spurs(of course that didnt end well). Speaking of other one-man armies where does Allen Iverson place on this list?
