Bryant24ParticipantTony Wroten was once the #1 player in the 2011 class but he started to slide down a bit then he got injured last season and didnt play his whole junior year but he has came back strong this summer and they said he played well for the usa team this summer. Thi site compares him to Rodney Stuckey and James Harden. So yall agree with that comparsion? If not. Who do he reminds you guys of? He is a point guard to me with very good passy to fancy at times but he can pass and has good court vision. Is his future at the 1 or 2?
I posted this in nba fantasy but didnt mean to so disregard that.

WizardofOzParticipantI think his future is at PG and he has very good size for the position and has a knack for getting into the lane and making flashy passes to his teammates for easy baskets. He is a good athlete and a very good ball handler. He needs to work on his shooting ability and increase his range in order to become a more complete player. He also needs work on his overall consistency and come out to play game in and game out. This guy was really hyped up early in his career because he was ranked as the #1 6th grader. He was widely regarded as the #1 player in the class of 2011 up unto his sophomore year in HS and has slid down the rankings ever since, but there is no question that he is one of the best players in his class.

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantGreat player, what can’t he do, he can shoot it, pass it, get to the basket, great defender, very athletic, quick, very cocky though, he plays on the court knowing he is the best player and thinks he is head and shoulders above everyone which can have its negative and positive effects, I always found it better when stars were more humbling of their game and always looking to improve, to me he doesn’t seem like he could have an elite work ethic which is what separates the stars from the superstars, he also can be a little too erratic with his passes which lead to turnovers, he has a great height for PG being 6’5 and has a high ceiling for improvement.

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantThere is a difference between confidence and arrogance in a player is my point. When you believe you are too good to improve, yes it can be a negative effect because how can a good player become great when he does not feel the need to practice and that he is content with being how good he is now, Kobe is an example he is the best player in todays league yet every year he improves on some aspect of his game such as last year Hakeem helped him with his post game even though Kobe’s post game was already terrific, thats the type of mentality and work ethic that separate players from becoming stars to superstars was the point I was trying to prove.

stanford hoopsin life yeah..on the court its a good thing. if you feel you are better then everyone out there then you work hard to back it up then thats a positive. no one is more arrogant then jordan and we see how that turned out. all the greats say the same thing about feeling they are the best player on the court.
and theres never been any reports about this kid not feeling the need to practice so that wouldnt apply to him. his cockiness is obviously a very good thing

JNixonParticipantHe’s along that same line as Tyreke Evans and Lance Stephenson to me. He can play both guard spots, seems to have a nice wingspan, uses his strength and handle to create off the bounce, has some flashy passing skills, and natural scoring ability. I think he needs to improve his shooting range and overall consistency with his shot, but he has a chance to be nice college and NBA player. Lets hope he returns from injury well

OhCanada-ParticipantHe is fine, his injury didnt effect him nearly as bad as anyone assumed. Ill try to find the interveiw I saw and post it, he said he is fully healed and that he believes he should be ranked #1. The guy’s confidence is off the charts!

206 BallaParticipanti know tony very well. iv watched him play since he was in 7th grade. up untill this year the dude was broke from out side the key. but now he will straight elevate over you for a jumper from just about anywhere on the court. he is very cocky but he does have that elite work ethic. i see him working on his game all the time. i peronally gaurantee a state championship for the garfield bulldogs, tony wont accept anything else

HitsterParticipantJordan and Kobe have won 11 titles between them along with 57,000 regular season points so they had reason to be cocky. Being confident can help lift your team and make them believe they can achieve beyond their potential, being cocky and demanding the ball etc can undermine your team mates and make you a marked man with your opponents.
Tony Wrotten is a great prospect and I haven’t seen enough of him to really judge what his best position is but with his size he’d make heck of a PG and if he is less athletic than John Wall then playing PG and controlling your own tempo may be perfect for him.
At Kentucky he’d have to be a team player as he could have maybe another 3 guys on the roster who can be one and dones but this might be a good way for him to show that he can be a good team player and Coach Cal has a great pedigree of getting PG’s drafted high.
