valentineThis freshman pg from Oklahoma is a BEAST. He is only 5’10 but he is a solid 200 pounds and for that size he has amazing speed and quickness and also ball handling. He is a true pg with range out to the nba 3 and beyond. He put up 38 POINTS against Iowa State the other night and is part of the reason why OU is the 3rd best team in the Big 12

JNixonParticipant3rd best team??? I wonder who you think they’re better than. Anyway, Mason-Griffin will be a decent prospect in 2011 or more likely 2012, as he is solid but needs to polish up his fundamentals and take more command of the offense. He’s not a pure PG, but I think he will be in the future. He’s got alot of scoring tools and a strong body.

catoosanumber22They are better than everyone with the exception of Kansas and Texas

JoeWolf1OU the 3rd best team? Oh, is that why they lost to Baylor by 31? Texas Tech ( who is sporting a lofty 2-4 conference record) by 10 and T A&M.
And have you heard of #13 K-State??Oklahoma has a lot of talent and a good coach, but beating a 12-8 team by 5 at home doesn’t mean much as far as conference status
Records aside, I’d rank OU about 8th in the big 12
1. Kansas
2. Texas
3. Kansas State
4. Baylor
5. Texas A&M
6. Oklahoma State
7. Missouri
8. Oklahoma
9. Texas Tech
10. Nebraska
11. Iowa State
12. Colorado0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/29/2010 - 6:16am #251598
catoosanumber22I can already tell you lack knowledge of the big12 and OU because you have two teams that we already beat ranked ahead of us.

JoeWolf1Oh really, Colorado beat Baylor and Baylor is a better team. OU beat OSU and Missouri at home, I bet OSU will take the game at OSU and Missouri will be a tournament team and I have serious doubts about OU.

JoeWolf1Oklahoma State also beat Texas A&M and Texas Tech who OU lost to and a ranked opponent in K-State( on the road). Dropping a rivalry game on the road in conference play isn’t uncommon, nor does it have that much baring on who is better than who top to bottom.

catoosanumber22Bro OU WILL make the ncaa tournament i guarantee it

JoeWolf1We’ll see, at 12-8 they have a lot of work to do. I really like Capel as a coach, but I have serious doubts. I also think it’s funny how you dock my valid points and give yourself points for such insightful points as “bro OU WILL make the NCAA tournament I guarantee it”
Why don’t you give me reasons why they are the 3rd best team other than Tommy Mason-Griffin hung 38 on a depleated Iowa State team?

gatorheelsParticipantThe only way Oklahoma makes the NCAA tourney is if they win the Big 12 tourney. They don’t have any big wins. Plus they have lost to some cupcakes. Their tournament resume looks pathetic at the moment. They could also make it if they win out but that isn’t going to happen.
With that being said I do think the Sooners are just as good as Baylor, K St. & Ok St. I think all 4 of those teams are kind of on the same tier. Oklahoma just hasn’t played as well as those other teams for whatever reason. I wouldn’t rank Oklahoma any lower than 6th in the Big 12.

catoosanumber22If they are healthy and have all their key players, they just have too much talent. They have four future pros, Willie Warren, Keith Gallon, Tony Crocker, and TMG. Also, they have a shooter by the name of Cade Davis that can keep them in any game, and they have superior coaching

gatorheelsParticipantHaving talent doesn’t guarantee an NCAA tournament spot….you have to earn it. Oklahoma lost to VCU, Houston, San Diego, Texas Tech etc..that doesn’t look good. Like I said they have to win out or win the Big 12 tourney in order to make the Big 12. Those are tough tasks.

JoeWolf1It’s all if’s man, they have a lot of talent, there is no doubt about that, but they aren’t getting it together and, in my opinion, are having a tough time adjusting to losing the Griffin’s down low that is over 30 points and 20 rebounds and Gallon helps, but has a way to go. They just aren’t putting it together this season, I’m sure with Capel they’ll bounce back next year, but this year they are far from they level they were the last 2

catoosanumber22So do you believe they will go to the NIT?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/29/2010 - 6:49am #251612
JoeWolf1I personally think so, I bet they finish with 17 or 18 wins and make it, they are a big name program and unless there are a lot of upsets in conference tournaments, thus knocking out small conference teams that would not make it with at large bids but were considered locks to win their conferences then knocking them to the NIT, Oklahoma will most likely be in the NIT.

JoeWolf1Yeah, yours too, I like Capel is a coach, but they have some work to do for sure.

Adi JosephThis is one of the dumbest posts I’ve seen here in a long time. You need to take your extreme homerism and go to an Oklahoma fan site. for now, this thread is closed.
Come back with an open mind and a perception of reality.
