Man if people want to go with the hype and think Blake Griffin in the number one pick then what ever. I think nobody could decide on a pick so they went with a guy who got an award. If anybody watched collage basketball this year I would say Tyler Handsbrough is consensus number one pick. He has the leadership qualities, he's a proven winner and he plays with a fire that hasn't been seen in a long while. Blake Griffin only played two years and thou he did very well Handsbrough played for four years and did awsome every year. He puts up the numbers, he brings his hard hat and lunch pale to work everyday. If he can't ball why was he in collage basketball? Why was he able to score more than ten points a game? If ya'll don't have an awnser than you must not of been listen. Mark my words, this guys gonna kill it and any team that doesn't take him will be sorry they didn't.
you would make a terrible GM.
I think late lottery would be a bit of a reach for him even. The thing with his is that I have Zero doubt he can be a solid player at the very least. I really just get the feeling from him that he will be a solid starter in the league. Not a star, but he is a 4 time All American with now proven good size for the modern 4 and unparralelled effort, above average athelticism, and a champions work ethic. I think he has a different kind of potential but still lots of potential to be a big contributor on a championship quality team. I think he will be better than Udonis Haslem as a solid complimentary guy and team leader.
A slightly less Udonis Haslem is a PERFECT comparison for Tyler's potential canesboy6!
just because a player has a better college career than another player, doesn't mean that they should be picked ahead of them. the nba is a whole different ballgame
He has ZERO post moves. He used to get by by out-muscling smaller opponents. That WONT happen in the league. He's not athletic. College is a different ball game. Do you remember Lonny Baxter or Sean May. Both ACC PF's who dominated went to the league and are scrubs. He will be no different. Sheldon Williams ring a bell??
i do agree that the hate should stop and college stats dont determine whos a better player but its not even a question of if hansboro is better than blake...the same point you make about tyler you can make about jj reddick..what you dont seem to understand is the nab is a different animal then college..yes tyler was a great college player but if you noticed he does have probablems against athletic nba caliber big men because he doesnt have any post moves and thats what the nba is full of..his potenial is pretty limited because his game hasnt really changed that much since his freshman year and because of his age..doesnt mean he wont get better just means his celing is alot lower...youre right for those who dont think he can last in the nba...he will have a very long career in my opnion
I'm a really big fan of Hansbrough, I think his talent is severely under-rated and he'll be an important role player for whatever team he goes to - but if anybody even considered drafting him before Blake Griffin, I'd have them committed.
Hansbrough is who he is. In my opinion, that's a very good thing. But Blake Griffin's floor is to perform at the same level that Hansbrough will, and his ceiling is to be a potential all-star. You've GOT to pick him at #1 (unless you're the Clippers, in which case you'll find some way to &$#%#&@! it up).
Tyler Hansbrough is gonna be a late mid round pick for sure. Tyler isn't as dominate as Blake Griffin and I agree that college is a different ball game. Tyler will probably a silent leader on a team in years to come and a complimentary player to a team. Just cause you're amazing there isn't a guarantee that you will be a star player in the NBA. I still think Redick has potential. Look at Adam Morrison, I wouldn't call him a bust yet but he is close to one. Give him one more year to see what he can really do because he missed a whole entire year and it'll be hard for him on that Lakers team.
yeah i agree..i cant call either a bust just yet because reddick has shown he can get some minutes in the nba and before morrison got hurt he showed he could score a lil
I'm surprised that blake is the first overall pick he don't meet standards for the nba his offense is only on when the others team defense is weak and i saw alot of weak defenders this year. But if you look back at some of the games he plays and the defense is tight he will have a bad game in every category, but look at tyler he have a really good inside game he could make very difficult baskets and could lead teams and the nba scouts are under estimating him i think he could end up being pick as the 9,10,12,13,14 or 15.Plus an way higher basketball IQ.And i think thabeet is going to be like an mutumbo kind of player.
lol..are you serious..name the games he had a bad game in...how did he do against uncs good defense and tyler by the way?..just curious
