I haven’t seen any entries yet on the Timberwolves draft this year so I thought I would get one started. Right now they are projected at #12 but you never know how their position will turn out. I could see them sneaking into the 7th or 8th spot in the west but could also see them dropping even further. They are a tough team to gauge.

I am going to assume they will be drafting somewhere in the range of 11-15. The great thing about this years class is the depth so even at this spot they should get a strong prospect that fills a need. Right now we have a pretty solid line-up so we should be able to go BPA. One prospect that intrigues me is McDermott. Very similar offensive skill set to Love so it would be interesting to see how they would pair together. Another guy I really like is James Young. He would be a great 6th man that could score in bunches coming off the bench. Those would have to be my first two options in their current position. Wondering if anyone else has put some thought into this.

Draft anyone who can help this team out in the 4th quarter.  Kevin Love doesn’t take over games in the 4th quarter and I feel needs to.

I think the Wolves will be sellers if they have a lotto pick. They need to add players that can help now. They are desperate to begin winning.

i think they need to get their small forward situation figured out.  i’d say if hood was there, he’s the guy.  aaron gordon would be the next choice because his game would go well with love’s love for the 3pt jumper.  then saric, mcdormett, kyle anderson.

It would be cool if they could luck up a few spots to the 7-10 range and grab Rodney Hood. They could completely buy in to becoming the fun, offense dominant team. I don’t know if Adelman would play him, but Hood does have a employable pro skill (shooting) and seems to have the potential to be a solid defender, so who knows? Muhammad and Dieng don’t get any burn, but Robbie Hummel does, probably because he can shoot. So can Hood: 51% FG 45% from three 84% FT

They will almost certainly finish with a better record than every team in the East that misses the playoffs, and I only see 2 west teams at most having a better record than them while missing the playoffs (whoever misses out between Dallas, Phoenix, Memphis and Denver). There is a chance they make the playoffs, which would really hurt their pick (they would immediately leapfrog the bottom 3 seeds in the east and get bumped to around 17/18, in which case they lose the pick right?).

Assuming they stick to that 12 or 13 spot, they should go BPA since at each position they have a good player and/or a legitimate prospect with at least some upside. I don’t see them upgrading over any starter except maybe Brewer, but they also have Budinger, as well as Shabazz who may still pan out since he still hasn’t been given a chance and he’s still very young. They should stay away from projects since they don’t really have available minutes plus they have a horrible reputation for developing high-upside players. I kind of think they should just trade their pick to move down or to get some depth up front if possible.
