Thunders 12 game winning streak comes to a end
The Thunder's NBA leading 12 game winning streak came to an end tonight in Minneapolis. The Twolves, playing on TNT for the first time since 2004, got out to a hot start and never gave up the lead all night. The TNT audience got to see great games from Pekovic and Shved and the return of normal Kevin Love and nba finals JJ Barea. Westbrook turned it over like 9 times and shot horribly. Durant needed to take more shots. Anyone else see the game?
I saw the 4th quarter, it came down to the Thunder lacking a reliable outside threat with Martin out this game. Thabo missed a few wide open looks in the 4th which meant the T'Wolves were able to just pack the paint and force OKC into taking tough shots for the most part.
Russ did force it in the 4th, but he was getting a lot of rebounds and creating second shot-attempts with his hustle, so that somewhat made up for it. Durant played pretty badly in the 4th, he couldn't hit anything and having the offensive foul called on him really ticked him off, resulting in a rare technical.
It looked like despite this the Thunder were going to pull out the win, they got really fired up when Minnesota fans started cheering and celebrating being up 10 with a minute and change to go, OKC brought it back to a 2 possession game, but just couldn't get a 3 when they needed one to cut it down even more, and Love was great in the 4th.
Overall, a pretty interesting game, I liked what I saw from Minnesota, but would've liked to have seen Derrick Williams given some burn in the 4th.
oh westbrook, near quadruple double 30 11 9 8TO.
When will the undertakers streak end?
Barea hit some big 3's near the end of the game.
Can't wait till Rubio gets back to playing full minutes. K-Love is great but Rubio has to be the most exciting player on the team.
He played big, almost had a triple double for himself, off the top of my head, 15 pts, 12 ast, 7 reb. He got a lot of guys involved. J.J. came up huge, the Thunder were making a run for it, but J.J. took over. Pek had a huge game, he dominated the paint, perkins couldn't stop him. And Love played like we are a custom to seeing, it is refreshing to see him play so well, and a not to mention get his team mates involved, 7 assists. Great Win for the Timberwolves!
When rubio comes back this team is going to be exciting to watch. Shved is a great passer and playmaker. Shved shot better today and if can continue shooting half decent this team looks good. I have rooted for the timberwolves my whole life(I am 19) These last years have been rough but they are looking good last year and now this year especially. I dont live in minnesota so I rarely can watch them, but now that they are good and exciting to watch they are on prime time more often so I get to see them. It makes the 3 or 4 crappy years worth it if they can continue to develop and play at a high level. So many people are fair weather fans now a days.I am looking at you thunder and heat fans, you liked them when they became great. I love seeing a team grow and change and eventually become a contender(hopefully).
3 or 4 years? Try 7 or 8. And I am from Minnesota and I can't remember the last T'Wolves game I haven't watched. Last year was fun to watch until Rubio got hurt, but the years before that were absolutely brutal to watch.. Just hoping that we can stay healthy. At full strength, they will be a dangerous team for any Western Conference team.
How exciting is it to watch Alexey Shved play? I love his size, passing ability and shooting stroke. His shooting percentage is down (normal for a rookie) but he has tons of potential... He will only get better.
As a Thunder fan, I loved watching Shved play. That was my first time seeing him, and it was a good first impression. Barea reminded me why I hated him so much before...he did this same stuff to us in the playoffs the year the Mavs won. I was as heated as KD when he got that charge called for him.
That said, the Wolves are gonna be a tough out in the playoffs for whoever they play, assuming they stay healthy.
Thats what Barea does, especially against the Thunder. But I have to say as nice of a And-1 KD had when it danced on top of the back board, that was an obvioius offensive foul. Ridnour was planted and flew a good five feet, it was a sick shot, but shouldn't have counted.
This game was a trap game, though. Back-to-back road games with Atlanta and Minnesota, followed by an away game at Miami. It was just difficult to believe the Thunder would win all 3 of those games, let alone keeping an unexpected win streak alive.
Alot of people criticized Khan for having so many white players, but that Euro-Style of ball is really fun to watch,if the players execute it correctly.....
I Predicted the T Wolves would win this game...
