    Thunder:

Eric Maynor- 3rd straight outstanding game. Really can run a team and makes very good decisions. Has a good deal of quickness. Showed more confidence in his shooting than in the 1st 2 games. Plays with the saavy of a veteran. He will be an outstanding backup PG in the future, with the ability to be a solid starter too.

James Harden- Has shot poorly, but you have to watch the way he plays to appreciate the improvements he shows. Playing aggressive, but not at the expense of the team. He has a knack for playing that way. Plays with good strength and is great at drawing fouls. Could improve his ball-handling with his right hand, but he still can get to the rim. His stroke is fine, although he’s missing shots. Played outstanding D on Evan Turner, and has defended very well in every game. More athletic than he’s given credit for. Will continue to be the 6th man for OKC, but expect a sizeable jump in production next year.

B.J. Mullens- Continues to play with a high motor, which continues to be an encouraging sign. Gets most of his baskets working off the ball, but did made a nice jump hook and a face-up jump shot today. VERY rarely finishes through contact. Not likely to pass the ball. Very shaky hands (I think they may be small). Turnover magnet when he puts the ball on the floor. Showed a lack of awareness on D and on the glass. Could be a better rebounder if he timed his jumps better. He has improved, but he’s still a poor rebounder. He couldn’t guard Mo Speights, and Speights couldn’t guard him lol. He could still see minutes, but he’s not going to be a big factor next year.

D.J. White- Had a quiet game after 2 solid performance. Still showed the ability to carve out space with his frame. Missed more mid-range shots than he usually does, but still made some. Can rebound pretty well, especially on the offensive glass. Trade him OKC, he can be a rotation guy somewhere else.

Robert Vaden- The former sharpshooter continues to struggle. He is big/fat, but he struggles to create his own shots.

Mustafa Shafur- Former HS superstar. He played very aggressive today, but sometimes to a fault. Made too many risky passes. Shot the ball very well, especially for his standards.

    76ers:

Jrue Holiday- His game was a mixed bag. While he scored very well and took what the D gave him, he was shaky in his decision making as a playmaker at times. Although he scored more in this game than in any other, this was his worst game. He ran the offense OK, but ran into some trouble in the drive and dish. Shot the ball very well today when he was left open. Gets to the rim and plays very strong. Can lash his man to his hip on the way to the rim. Finishes MUCH better at the rim than he did last season. Played aggressive D, but he was a little wild and foul-prone. Still, Holiday continues to prove me wrong. He’s going to be just fine as our future starter.

Evan Turner- Struggled BADLY today. Tried to re-invent himself and show a deep ball, and failed. Airballed on his 1st shot from the field on a 3. Shows flashes of that mid-range game, but didn’t make it today. His shot selection was iffy today, but he still knows when to look to pass and score for the most part. His defense was mediocre or even below average today, and he gave up a bunch of fouls. James Harden gave him trouble on both ends, and would’ve torched him if he made more shots. Pouts to refs too much. Had his worst game of the Summer League, but he has time to get it together.

Jodie Meeks- Shot poorly today, but he was aggressive and got to the line. Can get out and run in transition. His handle continues to look shaky, and he needs to improve that. Has a developed offensive repertoire, that would be perfect if he improves his handle. Shown very good defensive ability in this Summer League.

Marreese Speights- Played very well offensively. When he puts it together like he did today, this is when I get excited about him. Made face-up shots, and made some nice plays with his back to the basket. Will make athletic finishes around the rim, although he does need to improve his strength. Still doesn’t pass the ball. For as much trouble as he gave all the Thunder’s bigs (especially Mullens), he couldn’t defend anybody either. He’s was the worse defender on the floor for Philly.

Obi Muenelo- Shot the ball more aggressively than the other games, but my undrafted sleeper still missed more than he needed too. He’s not going to make the roster.

Turner pouts a lot. He’s struggling playing off of the ball. You can see that he’s very frustrated. Do you see a problem during the season with him fitting in with Holiday and Iguodala?

I think he can fit in, but he’s going to have to be the 3rd option to start the season. I’d hope Collins doesn’t let Turner take the ball out of Iguodala and Holiday’s hands, even though I do think Iguodala can play off the ball a good bit (he did with Andre Miller)

Based on what Collins said during the little interview, it sounds like he wants the ball in Holidays hands. He said he thinks he’ll be a special player.

It should be very interesting seeing how Collins is able to play those three.

even if iggy does play off the ball, you’re now having a team let a rookie come in and control the team. I think they just need to work with turner to play off the ball because if he can, they could have a chance to get into the playoffs. With holiday, turner, iggy, brand, hawes, and speights, young, williams off the bench

    @daleo

Holiday and Iguodala would have the ball in their hands much more than Turner next season. They wouldn’t have the ball in his hands that much. Holiday I know needs the ball to be his best, and I think we’ll run the offense through him.

Jodie Meeks just seems like he’s almost there. Just a couple more improvements, defense and ball-handling as you pointed out, and he could be a great role player.

Or should we try to snatch Beasley with a Lou Williams, Jodie Meeks and Jason Smith package…Add a 2nd rounder to get done…Is Speights the future 4 or 5 ala Amare or Horford….Who’s the 5 on the Team…Is Hawes not in Summer League???what about Lou and Thad???

Latavious Williams made a bunch of very athletic finishes around the rim and made the energy plays he always does. He reminds me of Amir Johnson, as he’s not going to score much (especially by creating his own shots) but he will play D whether on the post or his his guy tries to face up, and he’s a decent rebounder. I don’t expect him to play much next year, but he should be a developmental prospect for them.

Obi Muenelo was the SG for Oklahoma State this past season, and he was a high school phenom in Oklahoma (I don’t know if that’s saying much). He was a big-time shooter in college. I made a prediction that he’d make a roster, and I compared him to Kelenna Azuibuike.

Listent to me, re-evaluate your perception of Mullens. You obviously just don’t like him by the nature of you. He is still skinny b ut he is wiry strong. He boxed out a group of defenders in one of the games for an offensive rebound, possesed the ball and brought the ball up for a dunk of which he was fouled, he did not finish the play. Youre right he wont be a factor in the NBA next year, but what he is doing is positive and his improvement have been way WAY ahead of schedule.

Jodie Meeks is maybe the TRUE most underated player in the league and could average 20 ppg if given the oppurtunity.

How can you say I don’t like him? He made 1 nice rebound in one game and now he’s a good rebounder? He’s like 7’0 275, so he isn’t skinny at all, and he gives up boards alot. He mis-timed his jumps on more than a few occasions. Watch him play closely. He’s nowhere near as good a rebounder as he should be. He also struggles to finish through contact. He doesn’t play very strong

He’s not on the roster….He’s been in the NBA for going on 4 years now lol. He’d look like an idiot in Summer League. He just sucks, Summer League isn’t really what he needs
