jerb2011ParticipantOKC has signed PG Norris Cole to a contract for the remainder of the season. Not sure how much of an impact he will have, but he brings championship experience and starting experience to the back up PG position behind Russell Westbrook. An upgrade over Semaj Christon.
The Thunder bench now appears to be PG Norris Cole, SG Alex Abrines, SF Doug McDermott, PF Taj Gibson, C Enes Kanter. Jerami Grant has been a solid multi-positional, plug-and-play guy for the Thunder as well.
I could really see them making a push to the 4 seed, after beating the Jazz last night, they’re only 2-3 games back. The defensive line-up of Westbrook, Roberson, Grant, Gibson, and Adams stifled the Jazz significantly down the stretch to secure the win.

OhCanada-ParticipantSam Presti proving his success as a GM wasnt solely based on drafting Durant. Essentially trading Payne, Lauverne and Morrow for Mcdermott and Gibson then signed Cole. To me Cole is an upgrade over Payne, Mcdermott over Morrow and Gibson over Lauverne. One bad move hes made was not resigning Harden but hindsight is 50/50.
They shot the ball great last night as well and Mcdermott looks like he will be a key piece going forward.

SubZeroParticipantThis team was sort of tough to watch earlier in the season even with Russ going off, but so far the new and improved Thunder are a lot more fun to watch. The offense seems much more fluid now with the shooting we have now, and last night in crunch time when Kanter kept getting burned on PnRs, Taj came in next to Adams and locked it up, including playing great D on Joe Johnson on a potential go-ahead possession. This is the most optimistic I’ve been since KD left

Jr. ROXASParticipantAlso Ibaka, Reggie Jackson and Adams. This guy and Masai Ujiri are GOATs.

CynthiaParticipantI was hoping for Brandon Jennings but I’ll definitely take Cole. I also believe he’s an upgrade over Payne, just as Gibson is over Lauvergne and McBuckets is over Morrow.
Is it just me or in the matter of a week or two OKC just went from possibly worst bench to one of the best benches? I kind of wish they did this sooner.
Now I doubt they have a legit chance at a chip this year but I think this definitely helps. Now if we can get a replacement for Roberson in free agency we may have a chance to be a top 5 team again next year. I don’t think we need a superstar or anything, but a borderline allstar like Rudy Gay (not saying him specifically just giving an example of a fringe star). Just really need a reliable second scorer and someone who can feed off of Westbrook.

SubZeroParticipantMy hope is that Oladipo can eventually take that next step, and that maybe Jerami Grant could become a similar defender
Or maybe we just need to have another stay on Waiters Island

ZachAttackParticipantYou realize that the Thunder were about 15 seconds away from blowing an 11 point fourth quarter lead as well as losing a game that they went 12 for 13 from three in the first half, 12 for 12 in the first 23 minutes and 30 seconds… Anyways, one good Joe Johnson pass and you guys would have lost. You might need to re-evaluate that depth you supposedly have.
(Still salty about the loss BTW)

But for real… I ain’t denying that OKC is good because I know they are. But they aren’t as set to beat the Warriors or unstoppable as this poster is implying. They’re still a one man show with a couple of nice role players. That’s it. They’re gonna need a lot more than Norris Cole to get past the first round. Because they ain’t going 12 for 12 on their first 12 3 pt shots like they did the other day

jerb2011Participant"Unstoppable" and "the 4 seed" are 2 different statements. One you made up, also you cannot deny that the Utah Jazz struggled to score after Enes came out and Taj came in. I only listed facts, don’t jump to conclusions.
