Kevin Durant is on fire coming into this game.  LeBron is probably the best perimeter/versatile defender in the NBA.

Around this time last year, the Miami Heat went on that 27-game win streak and LeBron played at a gear we rarely see any player hit in the history of basketball.

Who do you guys got and how many points do Durant and LeBron score?

I think Miami takes it.  Durant scores 43 and LeBron puts up 34

Sorry, but I dont see Durant putting 43 points on the Heat, especially when Lebron checks him most of the time, and that the Heat don’t have to focus on Westbrook. No way he goes for 43 bruh

       He already has 25. I think 30-35 is achievable…

Well, he had 26 going into the 4th but didn’t shoot because everyone else was hitting everything and they were up by 25.  I’m sure he would have been a lot closer to 40 if this had been a close game.

With KD playing like this, and Wade with his issues, if I had to pick a winner of the NBA Finals right now, my money would be on OKC. This isn’t based on the Heat and their record or the way they have played this year. In fact, if anyone remembers the Heat’s defense on opening night against the Bulls, it was incredible. They can still turn that on. This has more to do with KD, and the play of some OKC bench players. Sure, Wade could come back and play great like he has done many times before, and the Heat 3-peat, but if forced today, I’ll take KD this year.

Is anyone seeing PJIII’s defense on Lebron?? He’s showing incredible technique. I’m very impressed so far.

That was the most Derek Fisher shot ever.

Kevin Durant is absolutely dominating!  Sadly, the Heat can’t hit a 3 to save their lives and they continue to turn the ball over.

I really wanted to see this go down to the finals minutes.

The Heat played really sloppy basketball, a lot of unforced turnovers. The last games Miami looked desmotivated, they are playing like the regular season did not matter. I hope this game wake them up.

If this type of humiliation doesn’t wake them up, I don’t know what will.

Miami has been sleepwalking throughout the regular season, and it’s okay to do that to be honest.  The Spurs do it every season and they fare pretty well in the playoffs.  They just need to know when it’s time to pick it up and play the way they did the last two seasons.

Are there any other teams aside from Miami, OKC, Indy, and Santonio that can make it to the finals this year?

I think Portland just lacks a veteran post player. Someone who will bring toughness and court smarts. Imo, T Rob and Freeland shouldnt be counted on in the playoffs.

Yeah, this is why I didn’t include them in the list of championship teams.

To be honest, the only way they would win a title is the same way Dallas won the title in 2011, L.A. needs to get on fire and average Dirk-like numbers and the rest of the team needs to knock down everything they get.

Jump shooting teams don’t go far in the playoffs, unless they catch fire.

I will never write off LeBron James, but…

I think people are really underrating the fact that Indiana and Miami were close last year and Indiana is a better team and Miami is a worse one.

I’ve heard some claiming how Beasley and Oden somehow have improved the Heat. The truth is, Wade is now officialing a 2nd tier guy who might never be able to stay completely healthy, and some of their other veterans seem to be playing worse than they were a year ago.

Indiana has seen George ascend once again, and the emergence of Lance Stephenson as a serious player in this league has really improved them. Their bench has marginally improved and I just think they should be favored against the Heat.

Also, it took a very long time to get over the James Harden trade, because it was so unfathomably bad its almost like I didn’t want the Thunder to succeed. But with a healthy Westbrook, paired with Durant, I think those two alone make them the best team in the NBA.

Last night the Thunder showed a lot of toughness and fight. To come down from 18 and basically blow the Heat out was pretty impressive. Kevin Durant played just how I thought he would, like an MVP. LBJ played like an MVP also. Last night showed more of a desperation and NEED to win for the Thunder. I dont think they outplayed the Heat. If you go to the stats, they actuallly didnt. Miami shot a better fg% and went to the line more. Miami also outrebounded OKC. The difference was the 3pt shooting. OKC Made 16 3’s, 9-11 from Fisher and Lamb combined, 2 guys that are not big contributors normally. However Ray Allen played 30mins and made 1 shot. Norris Cole played almost 30mins and didnt even score. Battier sucked. Chris Bosh made, I think, 1 basket in the 2nd half.

The story of the game was the lineup change by Scott Brooks. I think it caught the Heat off guard, and Spoelfstra couldnt counter it, leading to 3 point bombs from the Thunder’s bench. I’m npot sure if they can get those contributions ocnsitently from their bench, but if so, they could definitely run away with the West.

On the other hand, there’s no need to panic yet for Miami. At this point last year, their record was worse than it is now, then that crazy streak happened. I dont think the streak will happen this year, but they still have a couple notches they can turn it up to. They just need to have consistent effort from their other guys outside of Lebron.
