Oklahoma City Thunder fans have been coveting for many years has reportedly been bought of his Spain contract and could potentially report to Oklahoma City this season.
OKLAHOMA CITY – According to reports out of Spain, the Oklahoma City Thunder has offered to pay the approximately $1 million (800,00 euros) opt-out clause to Spanish club Baskonia for big man Tibor Pleiss.
The German-born center was drafted in 2010 by the Nets and then traded to the Hawks before Oklahoma City purchased his rights and stashed him in Europe. This potential deal would allow the Thunder to bring Pleiss over for the upcoming season
As a Thunder fan this is exciting because he is a great and efficient low post scorer that they have lacked FOREVER, but this definitely means that Hasheem Thabeet and possibly Kendrick both get moved soon, if these sources are true. But who, besides Miami, is willing to take Kendrick’s contract? I guess it is expiring.

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipantIt says the thunder have offered to pay the 1 million buyout, but doesn’t the nba limit teams to 500k towards buyouts? I don’t know if I trust this report.

bmac697ParticipantI don’t see him coming over this year. Next year with Perkins and thabeet coming off the books, they’ll need a good back up center to split minutes with Adams. I don’t know too much about Pleiss but if he can give the thunder some low post scoring that will really help. I’m still confused why the thunder didn’t purse gortat when he was available he would have for in perfect next to ibaka

Jester87ParticipantI remember having seen him play live twice in euroleague games back when he played for Bamberg and I wasn’t impressed at all. Kinda stiff, very skinny, couldn’t hold position inside and he wasn’t really involved in their offense, but the team was definitely perimeter oriented. But again, it was almost 4 years ago.

King CaluchaParticipantNBA teams have a limit for buyouts not counting against the cap. The Thunder can pay any amount they want, but part of it is going to count as Pleiss’ salary this season.
