jwostrumParticipantim a big fan of thon maker. his skills to me, transcend his age and size. im curios if anyone else questions his ranking of the number 3 sophomore on this site. I think he is better than harry giles and josh jackson. I could understand the aruement that some think josh Jackson is better, but I can’t see harry giles being ranked ahead of maker. I don’t think he is as skilled on either end as thon maker, plus he is coming off a torn knee and missed his entire sophomore year. im not trying to slight harry giles, I think he will be a great player, and I hope roy Williams can lure him to Carolina. I just think thon maker is better. thoughts everyone?

HyphMcgyphParticipantHe’s legitimately the best high school talent I’ve seen in years. That he’s only a sophomore blows my mind…

HyphMcgyphParticipantI tried to add a link to a youtube highlight vid that just came out a day ago, but this site is acting up…someone who knows what they’re doing, post that vid cause it’s f***king insane.

jwostrumParticipantI saw that video today, it is insane your right. his skills are out of this world for a player his size that is only 16, and grew up playing soccer in the sudan. I don’t think he started playing basketball until he was like 13. people talk about joel embiid being a spounge, look what maker has picked up in just 3 or 4 years, and he will only get even better by the time he reaches college.

peZt93ParticipantI’ve read that some people question his age being born in Sudan and all. But even if he was 2-3 years older he’s still a great prospect.
Australia will be crazy good in a couple of years with Dante Exum, Ben Simmons and Thon Maker. Also can someone explain how to embed videos here?

chrisinozParticipantNot sure if he will play for Australia. Apparently he/his people have a problem with someone back here. He won’t commit to the national team as of yet which is a shame.

M-EazyParticipantI saw him play with Boo Williams during the summer and Carilse a couple week ago and I’m confused why yall think he’s best high school talent in years. By the way living in Hampton, VA allows me to see the best of the best of each class each year when the EYBL comes to town.

Andrew1984ParticipantThon Maker is so The Air Up There. Also his name makes him sound like a superhero’s villain.

lalailaParticipantif he can grow into someone he is showing potential to be then that’s going to be something unseen..
I mean 7’1 teenager who can not just shoot and dribble but it’s actually his main strengths he move runs and controls his body like a real real wing player but he is still plays in the post too and looks to be one of those long long shot blockers/rebounders too

MopgrassParticipantI know people are thinking he can make an insanely skilled and mobile center… okay, true. But if he was a 3 and he could keep up (it looks like he could), a 7’1" SF could create incredible problems for other teams… on defense and offense. It’s never been done or seen. Wow, talented kid.

Hacker90ParticipantHe keeps improving his ball handling and other perimeter skills, then I could see him playing the 3. His skills are awesome to watch now, and the kids only a sophomore right now. He has plenty of time to keep improving. A 7’1" SF is some video game shit
