The 76ers just claimed Robinson via Brian Windhorst. Well.. If he can’t impress there or show some sort of flashes until the end of the year, I can’t hope for him no more

If there is anywhere you can show your stuff and get some inflated stats its Philly…well NY isn’t a bad option either

I’m sure Thomas Robinson was sad to hear he was going to Philly, but I love this move. The Sixers are going to give him the chance to play a lot of basketball to show off what he can do, and if he preforms they will most likely trade him for assets to a better team. I also like T-Rob going to the 76ers because he is a high character guy that has had an interesting journy to the NBA, and can really do some good for those guys over there. Good trade off for both team and player in my opinion

He won’t get traded considering the deadline is over and that he’s already a free agent this summer.

I’m not so sure he will get the chance to play how he wants to at Philly. They picked him up strictly for collective bargaining salary reasons. It’s not like they are looking at him trying to get a glance to see if he will be a future piece. So with Noel, McGee, Henry Sims,  and Mbah a Moute, Jerami Grant, and Robert Covington also getting to play some small ball four. He is just sitting there getting 12 minutes a game, and waiting until the season ends, when Brooklyn actually wanted him to play and be a part of the playoff push.

i dont know man, i wouldnt realy say that its easier to get minutes over Brook Lopez, Mason Plumlee and Thadeus Young more than Javale McGee, Nerlens Noel and Henry Sims. and its not like the nets dont go small either, they even started Joe Johnson and Alan Anderson as their forwards in their last game.

however, i was kinda interested to see how Thomas Robinson could do under Lionel Hollins, a very old school coach and beside Brook Lopez, a talented center known for offense and blocking shots but weak on boards. oh well, hopefully he gets minutes in philly

Maybe given the minutes he can put 10 and 8 or something like that. Good move for both sides, the 76ers have nothing to lose, T-Rob has a lot to prove. If he can’t put decent stats in Philly, he’s done.

As soon as he was waived I thought the 76ers would try to pick him up. They’ve given chances to a lot of guys who didn’t even belong in the NBA. Thomas Robinson could still be a useful player in the right situation. If he can’t work his way into the 76ers rotation then that says a lot about his potential future in the NBA.

He is a bad fit though with the other pieces in the frontcourt, especially Noel considering their limited shooting range. T-Rob is basically nothing more than a high-energy player who can provide some intensity and some nasty from the bench. There will always be a place for players like that in the league, but he needs to focus on becoming that complentary piece by improving on D and not doing too much.
Still root for guys like him though, players who are not extremely talented per se, bu who reached stardom at the college level and reached the NBA based on intensity and hard work.

He’ll put up huge numbers for Philly. Should help him get a contract next season.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he averaged a double double.
