The Houston Rockets are getting rid of him for best offer to clear cap space for Dwight Howard.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba–houston-rockets-trying-to-trade-thomas-robinson-to-free-up-cap-space-for-run-at-dwight-howard-215915027.html

This isn’t a smart move in my opinion, I don’t find it that likely that they’re going to get Dwight but even if they do Thomas isn’t the guy to move, He has so much potential and had a decent rookie season with just not a ton of playing time. I like Thomas Robinson and I’m curious who will get him.

    Thoughts?

Then Robinson is the one to trade. Montejunas could develop into a stretch 4 (not as good as a Ryan Anderson- but will rebounds much better than a Ryan Anderson too). T Jones can obviously play on the perimeter. Robinson is a down low, hustle guy at this point. He could develop a consistant jumpshot, but he doesn’t have it right now, so he IS the odd man out for me.

True, Just seems like without an assurance from Dwight this doesn’t seem like a smart move. You’ll possibly get left with somebody not worth a Thomas Robinson and no Dwight

Wow, Monejunas is going to rebound MUCH better than Ryan Anderson’s career 8.2 rebounds per 36 minutes. So you see Montejunas being one of the league leaders in rebounding? Or did you not realize that Anderson is a perfectly fine rebounding PF? And has been fine at this skill his entire career.

You thought he had a decent rookie year? He shot 43 percent from the field and just didn’t look like he knew how to play basketball, which is alarming since he spent three years in college. He rebounded the ball well but he has so much to work on in terms of his shooting, decisionmaking, calming down and so on.

Indiana for 23rd pick? That way he can sit behind West and learn. Then also free a little more cap for Indiana when it comes to getting George and Stephenson back on new contracts.

his potential is high enough that teams would trade for him; his salary is high enough for Houston to consider trading him to save a significant amount

Reminds me of when Miami executed the Beasley salary dump. Lets hope Houston is as successful striking gold in free agency

Mayer the Rockets return the favor and send him to OKC for a pick and a vet maybe PJ3.
Would be a nice fit in OKC and finally someone who can be effective on both ends of the floor!

I know unlikely but let me dream…

I really like the Charlotte(Bobcats) idea. They have plenty of playing time for him what is exactly why T-Rob needs most – confidence and trust in him!

I kind of think the Rockets are out thinking themselves. They need a PF. Milsap, West, and Josh Smith are unrestricted free agents. The Rockets look like an attractive destination. Why not just sign one of those guys and keep the team intact?
