NYFinest12ParticipantIn the 2017 Mock Draft Thomas Bryant is in the second round which is weird too me. First off I believe that he should leave after this season. He is a player who has major talent and is a little rough around the edges yet it could be worse and he could be like Skal. Yet he is playing well and I think he can play a role in the NBA right away in terms of rebounding and defending.

ChewyParticipantbut as a prospect, he is already a 1st rounder IMO. I see no reason for him to stay in college, unless NBA GMs tell him he won’t be drafted. I think GMs would be interested in drafting him as their big man project.
If Cliff Alexander was a top 5 pick at any point last year, Bryant is a 1st rounder this year.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantWhat does alexander have to do with bryant? He was only projected as a top 5 pick before last season actually started. Those rankings mean absolutely nothing. He didn’t even wind up being picked in the actual draft.
As for Bryant, I believe he’s a borderline first rounder this year if he declares and does well in workouts. More likely he slips to the second round. I think with another year in school, and some more refinement of his post skills, he could improve his stock for next year.

ChewyParticipantthat GMs are always looking for big men with the right body type. Skills don’t matter as much because they feel they can coach up their skills, but not their physical approach to the game.

negguaryParticipantno penalty for entering the draft anymore, due to new NCAA rules which allows you to enter multiple times., therefore; he’ll probably enter his name regardless.

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantReally needs another year of tutelage, but is an overlooked first round talent and probably will declare due to the weak overall depth of the 2016 class…
