AwrightAwrightAwrightParticipantThe Sixers draft position gets more and more interesting by the day as more rumors are starting to leak out. Apparently, Noah Vonleh will be in Philly on Thursday for a second look by the Sixers. Rumor has it that they’re interested enough in him that a package of Thad and the #10 to move up to #7 or #8 to grab him IF he slips past 5 is also a possibility.
Rumors be as rumors may, do you think such a move is doable, and regardless, what do you think a reasonable exchange for the Sixers would be for a package consisting of Thad Young and their #10 pick ?

TheLastWordParticipantThe "big 3": Aran, Givony, and Ford all have Vonleh going #5. Boston is honing in on Gordon, 7 probably gets you only Randle for sure.

BallinmvpParticipantI don’t see vonleh falling to 7, his stock is really high right now.

mike_r232ParticipantI think that if they can package Thad and 10 to the Lakers for 7 and take whichever guy falls to them (probably Randle) all while getting rid of someone who doesn’t want to be there (Thad) then that would be a good move by the Sixers. I could also see them adding in a 2nd round pick to the Lakers with the Lakers sending back some future 2nd rounder, if they have any. That way the Lakers can get a cheap roster guy for this coming year and the Sixers move one of their 2nd rounders away from this year. They do, however, have to meet the minimum team salary requirements next year, so they’ll need to pay SOMEone. I just don’t think that person should be Thad.

Chilbert arenasParticipantIf Lavine is there at 10 and I’m the Lakers I do this in a heart beat, throw the Sixers 39th pick in there and target Stokes, McGary, or Hariston. They have a good amount of roster spots to fill might as well be with young potential talent that the fan base can get behind, sorry Kobe.

HitsterParticipantI would agree that Thad and 10 would get the 76ers up to about 7th but would the Lakers want to take on extra salary with the FA market approaching and Thad has a $9.7 million option for 2015/16 which I guess he opts into, again gives the Lakers less cap space.
Thad would be a natural fit at the Kings in their PF role but Sam Hinkie may want to move up more than two spaces for any deal involving Thad unless the Kings send some piece back which Philly could use.

Magic JordanParticipantThank you, Lakers have bigger plans then being a middling team next year… they can do that without Thad Young. He is owed 10 mil over the next two years and Lakers have much bigger plans than Thad Young. This trade WILL NOT HAPPEN. Lakers are trying to be big free agent players these next two off seasons, they won’t ruin that for Thad Young. 76er fans, you clearly don’t want Thad Young. What makes you think every other team is clamoring for him?

Ebown5ParticipantHe is a good player, but he isn’t right for this team given the state of rebuilding we are in. If Kobe was on our team we would be trying to trade him. The point is that anyone of value that isn’t part of the team’s long term plans is expendable.

Magic JordanParticipantAnd the Lakers aren’t rebuilding? lol… have you seen our roster? It’s in worse shape than your guys.
0- Posted on: Tue, 06/17/2014 - 3:09pm #920889
Ebown5ParticipantWell you aren’t really rebuilding the same way. You have a 36 year old superstar and a lot of cap room and will be trying to reload and compete for the next two years.
Agaun, I’m not saying that the Lakers should accept 10 and Thad for 7 necessarily, but you act as if it is a ludicrous offer and it isn’t. Thad is our only tradable commodity that we can stand to trade. We like him.

Magic JordanParticipantNo, maybe I am not articulating well enough. I mean to say that the Lakers are basically in the same place as the 76ers besides the fact that they are overpaying for Kobe. 10 and Thad Young is fair, sure… but it’s always proposed without taking the Lakers side of the trade into account, which is it does nothing for them. Thad is definitely a nice player, but definitely not what the Lakers need.

Magic JordanParticipantWell I would hate to have that type of impact on you. I was simply stating the simple truth that the Lakers have no more use of Thad Young than the 76ers do, in fact quite less yet about 100 times a day you 76er fans want to try to run through a scenario where you end up with the 7th pick by trading Thad Young and the 10th to the Lakers who have little to no reason for Thad Young. Just like the 76ers don’t.
If someone simply stating that their team has no need for your teams garbage makes you want to leave this site, then by all means…. It’s not like I’m trolling you tool… you 76er fans are trolling this site with your ridiclous Thad Young trades 100 times a day.
If he had the value that you guys think he does, don’t you think they would have found a taker for him the past TWO years they have been trying to trade him?

Ebown5ParticipantIt simply isn’t true that the Sixers have been trying to trade him for two years. This past year we certainly could have traded him, but we were under no pressure to do so for pennies on the dollar.

AwrightAwrightAwrightParticipantI wish haters, losers, and trolls would just read my original posts more carefully instead of spouting off their foul mouths with their own misconceived notion of what I originally said. I think my original post of this thread only mentioned that there are new rumors surfacing every day about sixers potential trades. Hello ! I never mentioned that this Thad trade is my own proposal. I said it was a RUMOR that I heard !! Please Demonic Hater (you know who you are), don’t hate the messenger !!!

TimberTrollParticipantIf both Randle and Smart are available at 7 then I could see the Lakers taking Randle, and then if Smart is still available at 10 then they trade Randle for Thaddeus Young and Smart.

AwrightAwrightAwrightParticipantSounds good. We’ll fill a backup Center hole AND a possible starting SG hole. I would have to give this one serious consideration if the Jazz puts it on the table. Good one !
