With the celtics most likely taking Fultz Rozier is the odd man out. The kid can flat out play and deserves more minutes on a team. I’m not saying he’s a starter but he’s a solid role player. Does he have any trade value. He would be a nice sweetener in a trade but I don’t think they make a big splash in the trade market. This year it’s through the draft and free agency. Two realistic targets I think are Heyward and milsap. milsap is interesting to me because him and Al played togeather for so long. He would fit in perfect with the current core as underdogs exception Fultz. It wouldn’t beat Cleveland but they’d be fun to watch. I know I got off track but does he have any value.

To Celtics’ fans, yes. To anybody else, no. At least not enough to want to trade for him.

    No and no.

He has very little trade value as an off guard, but he ain’t the odd man out either.

Celts played a lot with 3 small guards lineups, you can’t have too many, Bradley missed 27 games in RS, IT missed the last 3 PO games, sure you could have used Fultz and Rozier in these situations.

Bradley is strictly a 2, Smart is a point forward with PG size playing 3 positions, Rozier an off guard, IT a 20 shots 5 assists PG, they’re all small yet different.

Fultz would actually be the better fit of all the players for Rozier(more size than IT, way better scorer/shooter than smart), the combo Rozier/Smart never worked out, Fultz will be great with both.

Bradley-IT and Smart in the last year of their deal, not a bad thing for a 2MD Rozier.

IT has to go, he deserves all the money in the world, Celts deserves to win, it’s incompatible.

I’d be shocked if we moved Rozier to be honest with you. With two of IT, AB, and Smart possibly leaving at the end of next year, having his production on that rookie deal for another year will be vital, espescially if we are still trying to make noice in the PO and FA.

I think the real question here is, who is more likely to get traded this year, Avery Bradley, or Marcus Smart?

Here is an incredible article that breaks it down perfectly, and answers a lot of your questions:

    http://www.celticshub.com/2017/05/26/looking-forward-celtics-future/

I think this article also does a good job in highlighting why all this Hayward/Butler/George trade talk is just nonsense. The way the new cap and CBA is structured, you would have to spend $$$ in lux tax to field that type of team, and unless you are CLE or GSW you simply can’t do that. Ainge has done a good god of putting a team of veterans together to bridge to gap between the young guys. I don’t see him trying to capitolize on this team as constructed, and you can see that in the contracts he’s given out.

Rozier making less than 2 mil over the next two years for us, while still being an NBA player. I don’t think he goes anywhere.

But, to go along with this thread, I think Terry has a lot of value, even more so after how well he performed in the playoffs against some of the best PG’s in the league. He’s already a good rebounder, he is good in transition, plays great m2m D, and can guard multiple positions. Honestly, if he was on a lottery team, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him put up 15/5/5 albeit ineffieciently. If the rumored Rozier for Ibaka trade gives you any indication of his value, you can use that as a floor for him now.

I think he is worth a late lottery pick at this point, or a solid vet. I don’t think he’s a "sweetener" type of player at this point unless it’s a blockbuster trade. I think he has similar value to what the Magic got for Olidipo this past offseason (ironic, right?). I would expect Rozier and our 1st this year to get us a similar player to Ibaka.

Rozier, Zeller and 1st for Favors

Rozier, Zeller, #37 this year and 1st for Lopez

That’s the perceived value of Rozier at this point. Won’t get you a great player, but worth a decent player.

It kills me when you guys talk like next year is already a lost cause, and the Cavs are somehow a sure thing not just next year but years into the future. I guarantee Danny Ainge doesn’t think this way.

All it takes for a dominant team to become vulnerable is a key injury at the wrong time (think last year’s Warriors), a star player’s dissatisfaction with the pecking order (2004 Lakers) or just a sense of complacency and satisfaction with what’s already been accomplished (2011 Lakers).

And yeah, the Celtics deserve to win, so IT’s gotta go. I mean he’s a great guy and all, but they went like 15-67 with him this year, right? Trade the bum!

I can see now you were being sarcastic, but it’s hard to decipher sarcasm and reality with the way people have been hating on him lately! I get it he has his flaws, but flaws and all he averaged 30 efficiently which is hard to do and few players in the league can and won 53 games and the first seed.

Rozier still has 2 rookie scale years and was proven serviceable.

He should stay. Isaiah, Bradley and Smart are all FA next summer with better trade value. At least one of them shouldn’t be paid next summer. Ainge is certainly looking to deal one of them.

He is underated at this point in his career, with the logjam there.I have questioned Ainges collection of guards as holding value when you can’t play them all. I think it lessons their value over time and would be wise to move at least Rozier or Smart for somebody of greater positional need.

I could see both of those guards molding into a solid starters given the right situation, seems like Rozier is still prone to making mistakes, needs more pt.

His value probably isn’t that high, but might be coveted enough by a team like Detroit or Washington for them to give up an equal value player of a different position such as Oubre or Ellenson, but they would probably want Smart if Boston demanded more in return.

I would drive Okafor to the airport for Terry Rozier.

I would leave my house in CT, drive to Chicago, pick up Jalil, drive him to Philly, help him clean out his locker, drive him to Boston, pick up Rozier, drive him back to philly and spend the rest of the day looking for an apartment with him.

Rozier is a good role player, he’s not the sort of guy who you’d move in a straight trade IMO as I don’t see this helping Celtics at this stage but if they did pull a big move, he’d have nice value as an asset.
