Terrence Jones seems to be dropping a bit and rightfully so, he has not played up to his ability during this tournament. But he is still one of the 5 most talented players in this draft IMO. The question as to which position he will play in the NBA has been debated, and to me he is an NBA SF and has the skill set for it, the only question is whether he is quick enough to guard athletic SFs, and while I don’t think he will be a good defensively in the pro, I do think his offensive skill set fits the profile of an NBA SF. This site has him compared to Marvin Williams, and while there is some similarities, Jones to me compares perfectly to Jamal Mashburn. Same size, offensive skill-set, and share the same weaknesses as a player.

Mashburn is interesting to say the least, but I don’t think Terrance Jones is a apt comparison because Jones should have the ability to play both SF and PF at the next level. I don’t really remember Mashburn taking alot of PT at PF. Jones should be able to handle both spots because his rebounding ability.

I compare Jones more to Jeff Green/Gerald Wallace. Simmons said Wallace, I thought more Green.  I think Jones will be able to bang low a little bit, but will be a stronger SF. I also believe he can put the ball on the ground and even pass well. He can rebound, and actually goes hard a little bit for rebounds. While he might not have the motor that screams top 10 pick, I think that’s where he ulimately ends up. Somewhere between 6-10.
