Terrance Jones to Kentucky

He signed financial aid papers with Kentucky tonight after originally committing to Washington. Big get for Kentucky and easily the nations number one class again. This guy has major skills for some of you who may not be aware of him. Think Lamar Odom minus a couple inches.

Cal actually preferred Jones

Cal actually preferred Jones over Leslie. Don't get me wrong he would have loved to have both, but Jones is a perfect fit as a 4 man in the Dribble Drive Motion. He has great handles and a great passer. This is huge for UK next year, no doubt.

That is true. This is the 2nd

That is true. This is the 2nd time a recruit of theirs has bounced to Kentucky lol.

I also agree that Terrence Jones is a better prospect and a better fit for Kentucky's system than C.J. Leslie is. He's way more skilled than Leslie and he has the size of a prototypical combo forward at this level. He reminds me of Donte Greene honestly, he's that talented offensively IMO

lol

lol donte greene. All he does is jack up shots, that's what he did at cuse too.

Terrence Jones is a straight up point-forward. Great fit for Kentucky.

Yeah, I don't see the Greene

Yeah, I don't see the Greene comparison at all. He's much more well rounded IMO.

Washington and Kentucky are

Washington and Kentucky are both part of the 8 team Maui Invitational this year. God I hope they match them up. Cant hate cal for getting the guys. Cant hate Romar for being bitter towards cal about it. It would make for a great storyline if they play in Maui.

Okay Taylor, how was Cal low

Okay Taylor, how was Cal low class for getting Jones? Have you read the article this morning in The Oregonian? Jones stated he wasn't ready to commit at his press conference and really needed more time. So just what did Cal do wrong here?

Terrence Jones

He might be the best NBA prospect out of anyone in that recruiting class. To me, as far as prospects go, he is just below a Barnes, Irving, Selby and I think he is a more complete player than a Perry Jones, who only might be considered a better prospect than Terrence due to his height, length and athleticism rather than his ability. I know Sullinger is a beast, but to me his lack of height could become an issue. I think with the addition of Jones, Kentucky has to be considered one of the favorites again, as I thought they were even without him, with a glaring hole at the 4 spot until the addition of Vargas and Jones. I think Kanter might be the leading scorer, rebounder and Knight might even score more than Jones, but I still say Jones has the brightest future out of those guys. It is a bold statement, as Kanter could be a total beast, but Jones comparisons to Odom are warranted, and he might be even better as a shooter/scorer than Lamar. As a Duck fan/alumnus, it is hard for me not to be at least slightly happy he is not going to the Huskies. I look forward to seeing these guys play together, they should be a very tough team and extremely fun to watch. In my opinion, they have 3 of the top 10 players in next years freshman class, and they should be a more complete class than even last years. While Kentucky class last year had the best prospect in Wall, and maybe even the second best in Cousins, this class has more size and a better all around fit as far as position depth. With Jones they also addressed there lack of depth at the 4/5 spot, and they could even possibly play him at 3. This kid has game, and I do not know if he will be a one and done, but he has a bright future.

Kentucky will be nice again

They got the pg they wanted a guy that can shoot the ball in Lamp and 3 big men a dominate force in Kanter, a defensive guy in Vargus, and a point forward in Jones.
The guy has the tools to recruit all the players that want to jump to the NBA as soon as possible.
Jones is a great get because he can handle the ball the way he does, Cal has never had a 4 man like him in that offense
now he can have 4 players that will be able to dribble drive and dish.
He can play 4 out with Kanter in the middle if he choses.
I don't see them getting the chip but they could make the normal Cal teams run.
And then next year they all 4 freshman are one and done and her comes the next class.

Washington fans must hate us,

Washington fans must hate us, but I couldn't be happier. And he hadnt signed his letter of intent after verbally committing to U-Dub so he could still be recruited. Nothing illegal happened with his recruitment, it was just very weird. Almost reminds me of the Xavier Henry recruitment except this time he made the right choice :P

stanford, you are right. Cal

stanford, you are right. Cal has said publicly as recent as a week ago that he does not recruit committed players.

Quincey, if you have a link

Quincey, if you have a link to that statement you just said I would appreciate seeing it before I go on my anti-cal tirade, thanks. I will give cal the benefit of the doubt, for now.

knicksfan, Jones actually

knicksfan, Jones actually called all the coaches from his final six schools after he committed to Washington. If you read the article from the Oregonian today, he even admitted he had no idea who was going to pick at his presser and really wasn't ready to commit to anyone at that point.
