HobbyOGParticipantLooks like new ownership doesn’t want to give CP3 max deal over 5 years…I don’t blame them! Great player but he’s always hurt during the playoffs and miss a ton during the regular season..I couldn’t justify giving dude the Max. basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/250318/Report-Chris-Paul-Rockets-Have-Tension-On-Contract-Situation

celtics1982ParticipantI’m not giving him a 5 year max deal. Either a shorter max deal or a 5 year deal for less than max. Thing is does Houston have any leverage? Reminds me of Tristan Thompson and the Cavs. They basically have to pay him, because they can’t replace him if he leaves.

RUDEBOY-ParticipantAs President Player Representative it’s not a good look if he settles for less than the max.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantCP3 has proven time and time again that he can’t stay healthy come play offs….I wouldn’t make him a focal point of an offense anymore lets put it that way, as come playoffs you don’t if he won’t go down with one of 3 injuries-Knee,Hand or Hamstring as that is what he has gone down with the whole time he was with the clippers.
If you are going to do the deal the most in terms of MAX money I would be giving him would be 2-3 years at most with a team options on the rest of his deal so you can let him go if injuries or play slippage start happening.
The Guy hasn’t won an MVP(K.D has),hasn’t won a Ring(Kawhi has) and can’t lead you to the finals by himself(Lebron has) so at this point his leverage is not as strong as say someone like a Lebron,K.D,Kawhi to why you deserve the MAX for 5 years. If Houston had done it this year maybe he could have at least had a serious conversation about it but not when you go down in the WCF when they need you the most.
