ten trade ideas for philly
philly let it be known yesterday that theyre intrested in getting out of brands deal I think its also been known that theyve been intrested in getting out of dalemberts for a while. with that in mind I have made a list of the top ten trade ideas I believe that are available and all of them have been ran past the trade machine. most of these deals show little won- lost difference for either team 3-5 games either way thoughts please. 2 is the second pick which they are willing to give for incentive to take brand and his contract.

You would be getting a little to much from the Lakers.
Im not liking half of these trades, Either Philly is hustiling the other teams or the other team is hustiling philly look at OKC trade for example. What the hell all the players OKC is throwing away are garabage and they are actually getting alot back.On the other hand why would the lakers trade Odom and artest for a Injury prone bigman and an unproven draft pick?
bad contracts. id like to hear which deals you do like. 2nd in the draft normally carrys a lot of potential is why
Brand & 2nd Pick to OKC for Jeff Green , Harden, and Collision
as they match a thing called the salary cap and are actually possible and im pretty sure okc would have a problem with that one as well
and it doesnt hurt the thunder that badly on paper but i think its a lot to ask
a player thats going downhill and is commited to for the next three seasons whos contributing 13 ppg and 6 boards theyre not looking for franchise players in return
I hope the Sixers don't do any of these trades. I would rather roll with Turner or D. Cuz and start, bench, or release EB.
brand wasn't meshing into the Phillys offense, he was alright not great but still can play. OKC lacks size and the lakers really showed them how you can't play with bigman. Evan turner can help bring up the ball sometimes and cut down westbrooks turnover numbers.
I can't see any team wanting anything to do with brand. and I wouldn't ever trade the 2nd pick, not when you can find a future all-star here
itll be a miracle if they can trade brand
A couple days ago there was a story about them trading Iggy, and just picking Turner to replace him. It listed the bucks as a trade partner, trading Iggy for Mike Redd and a 2nd round pick, the 47th. As a Bucks fan I would love to get rid of Redd but iggy's long contract scares me a bit. I could see maybe a Iggy, Dalembert for Redd, Gadzuric, the contracts come out to be the same, and it would give the sixers two expiring contracts. The Bucks would get another big man to pair with bogut for one year, and a player that will play more than 15 games a year,
Im not saying that I would really like this but it would help both teams, the bucks get a player that will play and the sixers will be able to rebuild by losing iggy's contract(the years off it)
The Kings would make that deal in a heartbeat. Can't imagine Philly wants to unload Brand so bad that they'll bring back so little for that #2 pick though.
Youd really trade a guy who although he isnt quite a number one option, is a also a good defender, pass, and rebounder, for someone like Redd whos making $18 mil next year and cant even stay on the court?
You guys are getting a little carried away on what Brands value is. Let's look at what we know about him. He was a perennial 20-10 guy and supposed franchise player. That was 4 seasons and 2 surgeries ago. He was signed to take Philly to the next level, but only made them worse. He's owed about 51 million dollars over the next 3 seasons.
He averaged 13-6 last year and is 31 years old. You can a player to do the same thing he's doing for about 5 million(and that's being generous). So basically you're overpaying 36 million dollars over those 3 teams, or 12 mil a year.
The #2 in this years draft will make on average about 5.5 mil over their 4 year rookie deal. Now, essentially if you package Brand with the #2 pick what it pretty much comes down to is a border line starter and the #2 pick for 57 million dollars for 4 years(taking into consideration that you'd be trading expiring contracts for him, and would have to pay them next year anyway). So if Brand's value over 3 years is actually 15mil, that essentially you paying 42mil for the #2 pick over 4 years. That's 10.5 mil a year rookie deal
This is how the GM's look at it. If they think that Turner/Cousins is worth that, then they may do the trade. But let's get real, it's a rookie, there's no guarantees.
To the guy who suggested Harden + Green for Brand and the #2 pick, I'm kind of embarrassed for you.
in Sacramento's case, Garcia and Nocioni are a decent sub and a salary anchor. Taking on a salary anchor at a better position in Brand, who could at least come off the bench and spell Landry, is well worth swapping Garcia for someone with the upside potential of Turner.
All I'm saying is that I find it hard to believe that Philly would come to a different conclusion that 2 subs, one with a bad contract, is worth giving away a top prospect like Turner just to unload Brand. I hope it happens as a Kings fan, but I'm not holding my breath.
Most of the deals (not all) you listed suffer the same problem - they assume Philly wants to get rid of Brand so bad that they're willing to give away Turner (or whoever at #2) and receive only role players in return for doing so. I don't doubt they'd love to get rid of Brand, I just don't agree they'll part with #2 to make it happen without something good coming back their way.
That Raptors one looks good.
Philly will be fools if they dont select Cousins..Then they can start Speights and unload Dalembert & Brand..how about sending Brand to Orlando for Lewis? Philly needs 3 point shooting and Orlando needs another rebounder...
I am down
