Celtics3178ParticipantI know it’s just preseason but this kids offensive game is better than advertised. He has so many moves and such a high basketball IQ I’m blown away. I think you could see him starting at the 4 at some point. Brad likes to make rookies earn minutes so it won’t happen right away but I think it will happen. As far as lonzo I posted about his bad game but did say it was only 1 game and everyone has a night. He played much better and you can see his rebounding and passing potential but his 3 point shot is terrible. He needs to adjust his mechanics soon the lakers can’t let him keep shooting with this release. A lot of his shots are hitting the back rim. Not saying he can’t devlope it but I don’t think he has NBA range yet I think if he took the KG shot it be going in but the NBA three being further back then college is a legit problem for him. Just my opinion but I think his shots worked in the past because the line eas closer and it’s easier to aim I don’t think he has the range for NBA 3’s yet.

Bankroll PJParticipantBuddy Hield struggled shooting last year. Brandon Ingram struggled shooting last year. Even Jamal Murray struggled shooting a bit last year. It’s common for rookies to struggle shooting the 3 early. That doesn’t mean his 3 point shot is terrible, yet. He’s taking the same shots from the same range he was taking at UCLA. They just aren’t going in yet in his two games.

drpg913ParticipantLonzo wasn’t a prolific 3 point shooter in highschool. last year was sort of an abberation for him. His funky mechanics will always be an issue. He has to add a floater and a change of pace to his game for him to be worthy of the hype he’s receiving.

tuck243ParticipantHe made 36% his senior year (shot over 220 3’s while he shot 194 in college) . 40% his junior year. I can’t find his sophmore year. His freshman year was 63%. He’s been shooting and making NBA range 3’s for most of his HS career. That’s part of his game. His step back 3 is essential to that as well..

Celtics3178ParticipantThe college 3 is 4 feet longer than the NBA 3. If you don’t think 4 feet is a major difference your dillusional. He’s 2 for 16 from NBA 3. The rest of his game is solid minus athleticsicm but he makes that up in size.

tuck243Participant2 games in the NBA Summer League shouldn’t negate that. Especially 12%. That’s goofy as hell to even mention that stat. Stephen Curry didn’t shoot that well from 3 in his first two games in summer league (hell the entire thing). Is he terrible at what he does now? Come on guy. THIS IS A TERRIBLE explanation.
