Celtics3178ParticipantAs a Celtic fans it’s kind of crazy to say this given We have Kyrie Heyward and Horford but from a fan stand point Tatum is the untouchable. It’s funny hearing these guys on the radio who only know football hockey and baseball talk about the Celtics. That’s being said they asked the question to fans would you rather trade Tatum or Kyrie for Kawahi and people wanted Tatum and not Kyrie. People brought up salary, the knee issues and his movies and songs makes him not a basketball guy like Tatum. What do you guys think personally if contracts didn’t matter I’m a Kyrie guy but with the contract I think I’d rather Tatum and it’s unbelievable that I’m saying that.

bigheavyParticipantI was thinking the same thing, but honestly I think Pop would rather have this combo and a few extras instead of Tatum anyway. He would get that solid young point guard that he needs and a defensive minded wing with offensive potential. That trade is right the spurs alley.

BeastMode716Participantgrow into a great player
but I agree w/ you that Tatum is the guy you build around
Kyrie is fantastic but 6’3” & under scoring guards that work primarily from breaking down Defenders off the dribble are Spectactular – especially in the regular season
But history shows that as a #1 option – please NOTE that I am saying as a #1 Option – do NOT lead their teams to NBA Titles
And for MOST teams that is OK – for example I see Donovan Mitchell & Russell Westbrook in this light – Allen Iverson, Stevie Francis & I can name many others
But for the Coston Celtics franchise they are about the Pursuit of NBA Titles – Period! All Day, Ever Day, that is the Goal of the Celtics
And Tatum FITS that bill both Historically speaking AND w/ the Modern NBA & how it is played – 6’9” silky smooth, 3 level scorer – Tatum is only going to get better & better as the Celtics Primary scorer
I feel like Boston should move Hayward & Kyrie & they will get Great Value for him – Kawhi would be PERFECT to play w/ Tatum & Brown & I luv al Horford but you’ll have to replace him in a few years
10 years from now I truly believe we will look back at that 2017 Draft as a Seminal Draft – Tatum looks like the best player & Mitchell is right there too – but I believe Fultz & Jackson will be absolute Stars – Fox, Markannen, DSJ, Ball will be outstanding & many others will grow into really good Pro’s

festar35ParticipantI think Kyrie is a great player, but i think Tatum is the biggest talent on that team, Tatum to me has Durant like upside.
Let the negs rain, but if I’m trading someone in Boston it is Kyrie Irving.
I would personally try grow the core of:
Horford
Tatum
Hayward
Brown
Rozier
I’d be looking to move Kyrie for a young big man who could learn from Horford and take over in a few years when he declines.
The youth there would peak in about 3-4 years meaning your Warriors & Rockets etc. will be declining, so they could really be a franchise that is a contender for a decade.0- Posted on: Sat, 06/16/2018 - 2:23am #1119649
220ParticipantNo negs from me. I was just talking to friend about this last night. I said if I was Boston I wouldn’t trade Jayson Tatum even to get Kawhi Leonard. I’d also far sooner trade Kyrie Irving largely thanks to his injury history.

jjj10manParticipantJason Tatum averaged 14 ppg

celtics1982ParticipantTatum scored 18.5 points per game during 19 playoff games. He would take over games and be unstoppable at times, during his age 19 season. Leonard averaged 7.9 points at age 20 in the NBA and it took till age 23 before he scored above 14 points, 16.5 at age 23. He didn’t score above 20 till age 24.
Age matters!
