Boring time in the NBA season!

I was just watching some Melo footage. I’ve never liked him too much, but I just love his shot. By far my favorite shot in the league.

So, who’s shot do you like the most? and All-time? My all time is definitely Brandon Roy, thing of beauty.

And if we’re already talking form, Josh Jackson’s is just horrible. Not as bad as Shawn Marion’s lol

I believe Ben Simmons is shooting jumpers with the wrong hand. Aside from jumpers, all his other shots are right handed.

And the jumpshots he does take with his left hand are ugly. Ive never seen it before but if I were his shooting coach, Id get him to swap hands ASAP. Teams dont respect the jumper anyways and his jumpshot % cant really get any worse.

There must be some dexterity tests he can do to identify which hand is more coordinated through a shooting motion.

Hes definitely left-handed but it’s kind of weird how he almost always prefers to finish with his right hand around the basket, even when it would be a much easier shot with his left hand. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a guy miss so many point blank layups and dunks because he refuses to finish with his dominant hand.

I like Melos shot except when he doesn’t use his follow through and just whips his hands down after the release.. I honestly think he goes from a 50% shooter following through to like 20% when he does that.. Stop doing that you look stupid!

Favorite shooting forms for me.. Salim Stoudamire, Antoine Walker and Jamal Crawford (shot selection not so much)

JJ Redick still has a picture perfect shooting form, klay too, always the same motion, always squared up.

Guys like Durant and curry obviously have  great shooting form but they shoot more of a set shot than a jump shot. They generally don’t get a ton of lift but it allows them to release the ball faster, particularly off the dribble.

As far as pure spot up jump shooters, it’s very hard to beat ray Allen. He was a guy that really got his legs into his shot. He almost always had his feet set and was in perfect balance while rarely wasting any motion. It was really beautiful to watch. However, it takes incredible leg strength and conditioning to keep up that shooting form over the course of an NBA game.

I’ve always been mesmerized by watch Steph’s release. Even back at Davidson watching him has been a treat.

Gotta love watching some of weirdo releases like Shawn Marion, Josh Children’s, Ron Arrest.

Ben McLemore has flawless form and I also love watching Terrence Ross shoot the three. Really shoots from his legs.

It’s hard to go past Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. I hope BEal is healthy this year so we can watch more of his sweet stroke!

Ok, this is pretty odd but Vince Carter’s form is my absolute favorite. Especially those days in Toronto where he jacks up a ton of fall-aways. Kinda inefficient but beautiful form. Love the kickback with his legs.

Allan Houston is my clear number 2 favorite. Purest stroke ever!!!

Other forms I never get tired watching (literally): Mike Miller, Brad Beal, Rodney Hood, Abdul-Rauf, Michael Finley

Seeing IT throw up his floater over 7 footers has to be one of my favorite shots. It is amazing and hilarious to see a 5”9 guy just toss up nice floaters over huge NBA players. I give him credit for finding something that works for him.
