T-Wolves New Plan

Now that Rubio is coming to Minnesota, let's play the what if game. What happens if for some reason the Cavs pass on Kyrie Irving at #1? Does Minnesota draft another PG in Irving, or who would be the time to jump into that spot with a trade?

Wolves do not draft a PG if

Wolves do not draft a PG if Rubio is coming over. That is obvious. Certainly they don't draft Irving. I suspect that Wolves trade their pick for a veteran and a later draft pick. Or they wait it out and see if D. Williams is still available (though if I were the Cavs I would take him first and role dice with fourth pick and whatever PG is available at that point).

Totally agree. I think the Cavs should take Williams at #1, and take a PG at 4 (maybe Knight). That puts the Wolves in an interesting position. Quite a few teams would be love to move up to take Irving.

Take Kanter

Take Kanter, let him mesh with your new point guard. Let Love become the team leader he already is for one more year, move the players you don't see having a future with the franchise and if you end up with a poor record, you have talent, the core has the benefit of a year together and you may end up with another high lottery in next years stacked draft. Very Thunder like rebuild.

Wolves

The Wolves will not draft a player at #2 without having a prior destination determined. The player/pick will be traded to highest bidder.

Nath09..

Without a trade involving a high pick happening the Wolves will not have a high draft pick next season.

Offensively, the Love-Kanter

Offensively, the Love-Kanter front-court works, as Love's face-up game complements Kanter's post presence, but I do wonder who is going to play D in that situation. Kanter is probably the best pick for them with Rubio coming over. Might be worth just keeping the pick and taking him, plus it gives them flexibility if Love bails.

To Purple

Yeah I just realised no first rounder next year, shame its never win/win for the T wolves. I think I'd still try and build that nucleus now and maybe see if I can move someone for a first rounder. Moving Beasley and Ridnour would do it. Especially if you can see good signs in Randolph throught the first couple of months of the season.

Wolves should keep pick and

Wolves should keep pick and draft Kanter. I think he is a better fit than Love and Love will want to be moved at some poing. I think Love would be better on another team and he knows it too. I dont think Minny is a great fit long term. They should take Kanter and give him minutes at the 4 and 5 off the bench and then trade Love who should have a high stock at the time. The question is what team will give up the most for Love. Love is from California and I think he could do wonders for GSW or possibly Phoenix.

Soon you'll find out...

Soon you will find out that Rubio's younger basketball playing sister has been enrolled at Hopkins High School (Minneapolis suburban school).

Draft Irving and..

trade Rubio to the Lakers for Bynum. The kid has a bad attitude he'd be perfect with Kobem and Lakers get their PG of the future. Bynum and Love look nice in Minny with Irving getting them the ball.

The Wolves obviously draft

The Wolves obviously draft Kanter regardless if Irving or Williams is on the board because he is the best fit and the TBPA (Tied for Best Player Availible)

If the NCAA weren't monsters who could care less about the kids who make them money and let Kanter play for Kentucky this year you were probably looking at the Enes Kanter lottery, and he would of been in the running for National Player of the Year. He completely owned Sullinger, and Jones at the Hoop Summit and is bigger, more athletic, every bit as skilled and just as strong as Sullinger and he was in the running. Kante would of put up beast numbers no doubt around 18 and 12 as a fresh at Kentucky not to mention how much better they would of been with the best center in college and would of had a great shot at winning the title.

So the Wolves should draft Kanter.

Swelton Love isnt from California, he's from Oregon...

With your logic he should be traded to The Blazers or Warriors(UCLA colored jerseys)...in all fairness Kaun loves Rubio and will likely build around him and whoever shows signs of staying happy in Minnesota, If the Love contract extension rumors are true then they should take an early stance in the matter and trade him to the highest bidder, Yes Portland can offer Rudy Fernandez and Nicholas Batum but I don't know if they take that deal, would Love be worth losing out on Batum's potential, I think Batum is gone when he becomes a free agent so It's worth the risk, LA can play off Love and vice versa, Oden and Camby could put them over the top, Batum and Rudy don't really strike me as over the top type impact players, just very good pieces, Rudy and Batum next to Rubio would be dynamic, Beasley and Randolph provide a good bit of offense and Darko can bring the Defense, the 2nd pick would be ideal in getting a replacement for Love and drafting Kanter can be a good start...although you could just trade Kanter, Flynn and Johnson for a nice combo of players of picks...

NOW THEY MUST DRAFT KANTER

NOW THEY MUST DRAFT KANTER AND THIS IS WHY. Love got some of the softest hands in the league. Kanter also has extremely soft hands and catches eveything. Mike Beasley got soft hands too on oops and catching passes thrown on a string. And now that Rubio is here he's looking like the new QB and wondering how good his recievers can catch.

It's about to get buzzing in the Twin Cities. What Rubio can do this year and Love and Beasly building off last year, and add in the 2nd pick and Wes Johnson improvement they can be really fun to watch next year.

Buzz?

It's now about buzz... it's about team basketball and players playing together as a unit winning games and improving enough make the playoffs and eventually a championship if they are fortunate enough.

There will be a trade

According to what I read, Rubio would stay one more season in Barcelona if there is a lockout next season. Anyhow, assuming that the Cavaliers pick Williams and that the Wolves keep their pick, there will be 2 choices: Irving or Kanter. At the PG, they already have Ridnour and Flynn, if Rubio comes as the rumor makes us believe, there would be too many PGs and Irving would not be a smart choice. Would Kanter be a better choice? They already have Milicic, Pekovic, Tolliver, Love and Randolph, all of them are still young and promising. Kanter would be an upgrade over most of these guys, so would be Irving at the PG. In conclusion, whatever pick they make, the Wolves will have to move few players.
