    Everyone knows the Timberwolves would be better off to trade Kevin Love before the draft.  It is by far their best chance of getting any sort of return of value.  The best possible option would be to trade him to Cleveland for the #1.  I would hope at this point that Love would be willing to sign off on another year just as an assurance to get out of town a year earlier and save his reputation from a trade demand standoff.  Depending on what Minny gets back, Cleveland has to take this trade, right??  If this move happens, I say fire sale time for Minnesota to go all in on this draft.  Pekovic to LA for #7 and Nash? Pek would fit in great with LA, and Nash would be a great player/coach for Rubio if he wanted to stick around another year.  The door is wide open after that with draft picks #1 #7 #13 Dion Waiters and Nash. They could then make a play for Asik or another big man if they don’t draft Embiid.  A Parker/Wiggins, Vonleh/Randle/Parker, Stauskas/Harris draft would sure be a hell of a way for Minnesota to start over.  Of course in 2 years the lineup will be a shit sandwich that in no way resembles this.

     So basically these three would be Wolves picks Embiid, Randle, and Harris. Starting lineup would be Embiid, Randle, Brewer, Waiters, Rubio with Nash being the coach or mentor for Rubio, and Harris being the sixth man with Martin and Budinger also coming off the bench. Not bad but I see two problems. One, I don’t know about Nash coaching the team. I like the idea, but I don’t think the NBA is going to have two coaches who jump immediately from playing to coaching in Jason Kidd and Steve Nash. Love the idea, but it would take a lot of trust for that to happen. Is Flip Saunders ready to put that much trust in Nash, I don’t think so. Sam Mitchell is already close to being the coach after Hoiberg and Izzo said no to the NBA and stuck with College, and Dave Joerger decided to stay in Memphis.

    Problem #2, Cavs already tried to get Love last year. They offered Waiters, Thomspon, and the #1 pick for Love. Wolves said no. Now that was with a weak draft, do the Wolves accept with a deep draft. Maybe, especially since Love wanting desperately to get out of Minny, except for one problem Love controls where he goes. I don’t think Love would want to re-sign with the Cavs. Cavs have been struggling to make the playoffs just as much as the Wolves themselves have been struggling to make the playoffs and that was with Love. Do you really think Love will want to struggle that much again just to make the playoffs? I don’t think so. Love is going to Boston or Chicago. I’m thinking the Celtics.

     @lakesideben, welcome to .Net, man.

    Your trade idea sure looks like a great way for ‘Sota to hit that reset button, but man, I think that deal might be best case scenario for the Wolves. As UnderKanter said, it really looks as if it is Love who is the deciding factor in any swap the Wolves make. It all will depend on if he opts to re-sign with his new team. If I were another franchise I know for a fact that I wouldn’t sell the family farm for a one year rental of Love. I agree with you about how Minnesota would be wise to sell-high on Love before the draft if they want to get semi-equal value in return.

    Ok, lets try this…..

    Min gets: From Cleveland: #1 pick, Tristan Thompson, From Boston: Jeff Green, Jerrid Bayless, and Kris Humphries

    Cle gets: From Boston #6, #17 and Future 1st round asset. From Min: Nik Pekovic

    Bos gets: Kevin Love, Spencer Hawes

    I think with Dieng playing well last year, Pek is looking more like a trade chip.  Boston of course goes for this deal, does Cleveland?

       No, Cleveland would not do that.

      However, I would organize a riot if they did….. if that helps.

    I also think they need to move him in this offseason. He has a history of missing games so it would be good for them to move him when his trade value is still very high.

    As with most players Kevin would prob want to go to a contender or at least a potential playoff team so it would be hard to get him to do a sign and trade with a bad team with a high draft pick. The Kings have come out and said they would trade him for the 8th pick in the draft and that was without Love signing and extension so its not all doom and gloom for Minnesota.

    I am not sure what to think with Love going to Boston and hanging out with Rondo and Bill Walton. You could assume the Celtics might give up their 6th overall pick and Sullinger or Olynyk
