So that kid looked really good in the summer league.. Very efficient. T-Rex arms though, but I like his game.. Im not so sure he’s going to get playing time with KCP, Hart, and Lance already there at SG. He looks like a steal in this draft IMO. Deadly shooter.. KCP signing didnt make sense to me as I feel this should be a year to develop their youth with Lebron, although I know it wasn’t initially the plan, I wish they could just go back and not sign Lance and KCP and throw some cash at Capella or whatever.. What do you guys think about this kid ? Will he play?

I thought he didn’t quite live up to expectations in college, he has been on the mock drafts for years now.

I haven’t seen him in SL but he is a good 3 point shooter, I feel his game might be better suited for the pros especially since how many 3’s they jack up these days.

He has good size, i dont think having a slight trex is going to hurt him. Its not like he is 6"3 SG with a 6"1 wingspan. I think he is about 6"7 barefoot or 6"8 in shoes. I think he has a 6"5 or 6"6 wingspan

Yea thats the thing I don’t get sometimes with wingspans. You have guys like Gary Trent Jr who are 6’5 but have 6’8 wingspans wherein their wingspans are considered assets. However, for a guy like Svi, just because his wingspan looks bad compared to his height, it is considered a major red flag. If he were 6’5 too with a 6’8 wingspan, I don’t think people will be talking about it.

Wingspan matters because it indicates ability to make a play on the ball without making body to body contact. Someone who is 6’8 will likely have a wider body than someone who is 6’5. If they have the same wingspan, however, the shorter player has a better chance of reaching the ball on defense without checking the ball handler.

I can see the Lakers running out LBJ, 3 wings and a big this year so he might get 10-15 minutes a game.

Injuries could give him an oppurtunity. Lakers have depth and I’d guess Stephenson is ahead of him on the totem pole.

Svi never thrived in selfs system but whenever he played for Ukraine he still showed his talent. Not too surprised he played well in SL.

Lakers been killing it recently with these later first round early 2nd round picks. Svi, Mo Wagner already look like solid role players, Kuzma and Hart last year look like potential starter quality Kuz has some star potential. Before that they had Larry Nance, Jordan Clarkson, and Zubac even decent role players all late 1st and 2nd round

I projected svi in the mid first round to the jazz. I still think he’ll be a better player than Grayson Allen. Check my mock. Now mo Wagner ha she star potential who I overlooked. I had in the mid 40s to the lakers. Serendipitous.  Check my mock

He did look good in summer league, but he won’t be in the rotation this year.  He will get minutes during blowouts, foul trouble, injuries, and in the D-League.

The Magic D*ck will bring the Lakers a championship, and atone for his homo lechery. Now I hope he dies of HIV soon.

Alcohol doesn’t turn you into something you’re not … it simply lessens inhibitors and suddenly you say and do things you normally wouldn’t.

For example: you might normally be gay, but not be capable of acting on those feelings due to insecurities. However, after a night of drinking, youve loosened up and Uber your way to the gay bar and wind up going home with a guy.

The next day however, you feel shame and start drinking again, only this time you find yourself in an angry stupor and resort to attacking others in a homophobic rant on a message board.

      For example. ….

Man all you do is compare players. Not that it’s terrible but you just don’t do nothing aside that. Would be cool if you could add a sentence or two what in particular you see as similarities.

I think Hood is a few inches shorter and don’t see them as very comparable. Physically I see him more in a Kyle Korver body but that’s also a lazy comparison by myself. Stat wise I agree that Svi could be in the neighbor(Hood lol) of Rodney if given the minutes but that’s unlikely to happen unless Lance really pisses off LeBron and the Lakers and KCP doesn‘t stay healthy.

While spot up shooting is obviously his main strength, he showed some ability to put it on the floor and create his shot in Vegas, which he didn’t do much at Kansas. He is a decent athlete with good mobility. However, he may be somewhat limited defensively by his short arms. When asked to do to much off the dribble, as far as making plays for others, he is turnover prone. His passing instincts need to improve. I dont really expect him to play a whole lot this season, but he is still young and could carve out a role eventually if he continues to improve.

Wasnt he mocked as a top 3 pick in his freshman year? It was the early release though

I liked Svi but I somehow left him off my Big Board.

I think LeBron is gonna get him some great shots…

Big Mo is a guy I liked, too.  I had him in the teens (I think) on my Big Board.  Although I think they shoulda gone with Mitchell Robinson (I Had Mitch Rob at 1 on my Big Board that I posted at the Grizz site then in my thread here). Robinson has more upside and is a better athlete, dunker, and shot blocker than Wagner. Both are good though.
