I first heard of this guy on the ‘other’ basketball draft site, DX, perhaps several months ago. As I continued to read articles about his talent, the more I was intrigued by him. Several people with knowledge have said the following: advance skill level, deceptive athleticism, high basketball IQ that is packaged into a 6’6 frame at a very young age; he’s only 16. Upon watching this guy play here’s what I got: he’s like a Euro Harrison Barnes with added craftiness. His step backs are a thing of beauty, really. Absolutely lethal from the mid range. Is a crafty finisher but should be able to play above the rim better once he adds strength.

Now, he recently committed to Kansas next year and if everything remains the same: he should be eligible to declare for the draft by 2016. I see two sides: the good and the bad.

Good part is that he has at least 2 years of playing in the NCAA to further develop his overall game against high level athletes who are also vying for a spot in the NBA. The bad part is that he might not actually get to enter the draft when he reaches 19 as Adam Silver proposed to increase the age limit by 20 to be effective starting the 2016 draft. His birthday falls on June 10th so it’s going to be a close but he will undoubtedly be eligible to enter 2017.

What do you guys think: is an extra year of college experience worth the wait for the NBA’s riches?

Yea I think the extra year is worth it. In his case he will have a lot of experience when entering the nba. I comp his game to nik stauskas with his ability to shoot, create off the dribble, and the athleticism. Also I don’t think his athleticism is underrated. That’s just what they say about most white boys that can jump.

Of course it is when he’s going to be as young as all of the freshman when he’s a sophomore. I think because of his experience (playing FIBA and two years of college) and young age he will be a top prospect in 2016.

hes been playing with pros and grown men for ages. I think Kelly Oubre should be annoyed because I cant see what he does better then this young guy. Im also thinking he can leave at any time and apply to the draft as a euro prospect if it doesnt go as planned for him.
