    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=n4hgath

    Knicks get:Kyle Lowry

Raptors get:Eric Bledsoe and Raymond Felton

    Suns get:Iman Shumpert

    Why?

Knicks recieve there new starting PG

Suns have said they won’t be able to pay the huge contract Eric Bledsoe will seek out for this offseason and trade him at his highest value for Shumpert, also get into tanking mode

Raptors get basically replace Kyle Lowry with Eric Bledsoe as their future PG

If the suns decide they can’t afford Bledsoe, they can get a LOT more than Shumpert.

Obviously you’re a raptor fan. Lowry for bledsoe? Lol

Bledsoe is averaging almost 20pts 5 reb 6 asst. He’s young and if Im the GM of phx id sign him for around 9-12 M per year.

Not saying he deserves this but he’s probably going to get a max offer or damn near.

Again, I’m not saying EBled deserves a max deal but the Bucks are desperate for talent.  The Magic are a PG away from a complete and young starting 5.  Dallas is going to have some money lying around and Sacramento might have some money if Rudy Gay declines his option (he’d be crazy to, he’s not getting 19m anywhere else).

19-6-4 with great defense and energy for a 24 year old on a 13-9 team (presumably a 38 -44 win team at season’s end) and possible All-Star could very well encourage some teams to pay huge.

Phoenix could have probably gotten away with a 7-9 M a year contract before the regular season but after the way he’s playing, someone’s going to offer him a nice deal.

This is a ridiculous trade. Why would the suns give up Bledsoe who is averaging 19 pts, 6 asts and 4 rbds a game for someone who’s averaging 6pts, 4 rbds and 2 asts per? I realize you say this because apparently the suns have stated they don’t have the money to pay him, which I have not caught wind of and am an avid Suns follower (link?), but like choppy said the suns can get MUCH MUCH more than Iman Shumpert if what you stated is true. The fact that you don’t even have Toronto giving up 1st or 2nd rounder is puzzling. I get that your a Raptors fan and understand where you’re coming from but this trade is just not logical in anyway for the Suns. IMO the better trade idea would be to just swap Bledsoe and Lowry and have the Raps throw in their 2014 first rounder and recieve the Suns  2014 first rounder. But my maybe that’s just me being a homer and over valuing EBled.

No offense, bro, but swapping Bledsoe and Lowry and first round picks is also a terrible trade idea.

The Slash brothers Dragic and Bledsoe are here to stay in PHX.

Renewing a guy early can go both ways, I can remember thinking that Danny Grainger’s early renewal looked generous but he turned out to be an all star, the flip side is someone like Aaron Brooks who in his 3rd year put up 19.6ppg and 5.3apg but never reached that form again and was traded during the next season.

Team’s can risk overpaying for a player if they go to FA but you also risk having handed a guy say a 4 year extension, he goes into cruise mode and maybe loses a bit of hunger. There are always jokes about some guys who can turn it on in contract year, I think Carlos Boozer was one case mentioned before.

Well said hitster. Also the Suns owner, Robert Sarver, has been in this predicament before and both times he came out on the wrong the end of the deal. First it was waiting to sign Joe Johnson and he walked b/c he felt the Suns disrespected him. Second time it was with Boris Diaw. He played great his first season here when Amare was hurt and we signed him to an extension right away and he was never able to get close to that production again once Amare returned. Dicey situation.

I cannot state enough how bad is this deal for the Suns.

Eric Bledsoe is a stud and Suns will match any offer he gets in free agency, bank on it.
