SnowtaParticipantIs it just me or is this whole "a rookie can’t be traded until 30 days after they sign" rule just stupid? So, you’re telling me that if the Wolves and Cavs agree to a deal this week the teams wouldn’t be able to announce it and have a press conference for a month? I just don’t understand the reasoning as to why there would be a rule like this. As a Wolves fan I’m hoping that Lebron is as serious as everyone thinks about wanting to play with Love and a month from now this trade can happen as rumored. However, the fact it won’t be official makes me worry. All it takes is for Lebron to change his mind over the next month and decide he wants to play with Wiggns instead and this dream scenario for the Wolves evaporates just like that. If it were any other team in the league I wouldn’t think twice about it, but since it’s the Wolves I have a bad feeling it’s somehow gonna get messed up. Please, let the rumors be true and let the Wolves get Wiggins. Good God this franchise and fan base has suffered long enough!

Wiggens’ jersey and he was traded before he played a game.
Side note I really hope the trade does not happen the way media is saying. Love is not worth Wiggens and assets.

SpacegrassParticipantThat would be one helluva throw back in 15-20 years if Wiggins were traded before a game was played for Cleveland and he lives up to the hype.

Flameres15ParticipantIt actually has to do with all players signed. They have to wait 30 days until they can be traded, so why should rookies be any different?

thetrademachineryParticipantit is a very reasonable rule in fact.
You sign and get traded immediately is not right in any sense.
Also it does makes sense for trading in the draft which is very spectacular i believe

HitsterParticipantRules are there for a reason, like any FA who has signed a new deal cannot be traded for an X number or days in effect a few months I think. This rule would be there to stop teams pulling 3rd party trades almost.
