    yeah defense. That’s pretty important.

As for shooting, watch what the best shooters do. Look where there elbow is, there off hand on the folow through and all that stuff and then practice good mechanics over and over. You want as tight and compact a shot as possible with little arm movement. Just practicing bad mechanics over and over no matter how natural it feels is a bad way to become a good shooter.

good point, and yeah i didnt specify – but im talking about offensively… (and for those who are going to say turnover prone – he has the ball in his hands id say 30 minutes out of 48, of course hes going to turn the ball over a few times! what point guard doesnt!)

oh, on offence he is a stud. I guess i could say he doesn’t have a post game but thats nit picking.

It’s good that you are trying to have good form on your shot, i have terrible form and it isn’t a consistant form either so i can’t shoot for crap.

haha if u ask me, ive never seen him try and post up, but i wouldnt be suprised if he had that in him as well! and same with me, my form isnt bad, its just SOOOO inconsistent – so i always feel like my form is bad lol. and i play everday!

His strength offensively I guess. He’s not gonna finish like Wade but who can blame him? He’s a very very good offensive player and one of the most exciting players to watch IMO.

yeah its best to follow those things as far as shooting.. its weird some guys ive played against with the worst mechanics and realease but they knock down there jumper like water. im sure we have all played against guys liek that. i wouldnt advise you to learn from them though

a player that cant dunk doesnt make them bad! lol, but i honestly think nash is pretty strong! if he wasnt i dont think hed be as good as he is! dont get me wrong, his strength doesnt make him, but i think it helps! hes very very crafty!

by compact and tight, i mean your elbows should be in close. The ball shouldn’t be too far out from your body. The ball shouldn’t go across your body or across your face on your jumper, it should go straight up and down. Your follow through should be the same every time. Your left hand should be right next to your right hand through out the shot and not leave the ball early. Also, get your legs into the shot. The more momentum you get from your legs and the less you have to push the ball with your arms, the better for getting range on your shot.

Like I said from the get go, just watch the smallest details of the top shooters like ray allen, or jason kapono or chauncey billups and try and do that. Tons of ball players try and guide the ball in and dont focus on form. Your first goal should be having good mechanics with a shot that feels effortless. Once you get that, then worry about making it.
