theres been a lot of talk about what happens to lebrons legacy  if he wins or loses the finals but has anyone thought about curry? I mean who do we compare steph too and when is it we will start that convo? Don’t get me wrong I know lebron is tHe most scrutinized guy ever but when I thought about it I struggled to even compare steph to a great player from the past. Thoughts?

Haha…Seth Curry after winning the lottery but before taxes rape him.

Honestly why is this "legacy" stuff such a topic these days?

Aren’t legacies things we talk about when guys are done or far removed from the game? Legacy’s are for when the resume is complete, not half way done.

Steph may go down as the greatest shooter to ever play the game. He could blow out his knee tonight and never play again and could go down as the greatest "what if?" to ever play. Its yet to be decided

I think we need to wait to say what his legacy will be.  A couple years ago I don’t think anybody would say he would be the MVP.  Now he looks like he’s going to win the Finals.   Who knows what he can do in the rest of his career.  He could win more championships or this could be his only one.  We don’t know how many records he’ll break along the way.  He’s only 27 and as long as he stays healthy he should have many years left in his career.

Legacy just took a huge hit if he doesn’t win this year, that’s for sure…

We live in a world full of instant gratification.

Nobody wants to enjoy the show that is life.

They just wanna compare everyone to everything. They want a legend. They want everything to be awesome all the time. They cant sit back and appreciate a great thing, they gotta conceptualize it.

NOW?  Best combination of long-distance shooter, scorer, ball handler, fancy passer, and offensive threat since Pistol Pete Maravich.  But, with an MVP award and a Finals appearance already capping off a 67 win regular season.

PEAK SCORING?  I would say MJ and Kobe are better pure scorers at guard.  Prime Pistol.  Iverson.  Jerry West from what I have read.  Put Steph Curry somewhere behind them if only because he hasn’t played as much as some of those other guys.  Not included: wing players (more of the small forward types) like George Gervin and Tracy McGrady.

West, Jordan, and Kobe have led teams to 67 wins.  Steph is in good company.

In the MODERN NBA, if you are going to win as a team built around a point guard, Steph Curry is the guy you build around.

He is probably already the best SHOOTING point guard of all time.  Who would be behind him?  Probably Mark Price… a great pure shooter and scorer.  But, Steph scores in a heavier volume and I want to see that he has even deeper range.

… it looks like the record for titles won led by teams with small point guards is Isiah Thomas’ Pistons teams with 2.  I can see the Warriors getting 2 or more, even if they end up losing this series.

At some point, we may look back at 3 PROTOTYPE point guards.  Magic Johnson as the best-ever PROTOTYPE big point guard, John Stockton as the PROTOTYPE average sized PASS FIRST point guard, and Steph Curry as the PROTOTYPE pure shooting, scorer AND fancy dribbler/passer, point guard.

Steph’s impact on the game is really similar to Nash. Not saying that they neccesarily play alike stylistacally, but both are shooters and passers at a super elite level.
