Here’s a new commerical Steph has where he reads a scouting report from 2009.  The scouting report is way off now but it just shows how hard he worked on his game.  He wasn’t the fastest, strongest, or biggest but he put in the work to be successful in the NBA.

Does anybody know who’s scouting report he was reading off by any chance?

Probably the scouting report written by the marketers who came up with his commercial if we are being real about it.

That’s a very fair point however I looked at this site’s scouting report to compare and found a lot of the same points made in the commercial.  Here is some of the weaknesses from the scouting report:

"Far below NBA standard in regard to explosivenes and athleticism"

"Doesn’t like when defenses are too physical with him … Not a great finisher around the basket due to his size and physical attributes"

He still struggles with physical defenders but he’s definitely better at finishing around the basket.

He developed a dynamite floater, improved his off-hand and he’s always been crafty with his footwork and fakes .  I still wouldn’t call him a great finisher. He’s not gonna take on the back line of the defense on his own that often, scoring through and around like some of the best finishers in the game.  He’s smart and very judicious when it comes to taking it to the hoop. Guys like Russ, Lawson, Teague, Dragic, Kyrie take it to the rim 10-12 times a game in the half court, whereas Curry drives less than 6 times a game. He understands his strengths and weaknesses.

The actual scouting wasn’t wrong.  He was weak, a below average athlete and he needed to improve his handle. The first 2 are still true and he improved his handle.

    The conjecture however was wrong.

News Flash:  Players actually improve their game through practice and working out.  He SHOULD be much better now than when first coming out to overcome his weaknesses.

I agree with some of what was said here. I mean,he’s obviously much better than what he was in 2009,I don’t know what’s the problem with daying in 2009 "he needs to improve on this and that",and say in 2015 "he has improved on this and that". It doesn’t mean " he’s njust a loser,he’s bad he s.cks". No ,just saying "we’ll see". I think some players are way too sensitive about that sometimes.
