Are we choosing the backcourt for a team trying to win right now, or are we planning for the future? I’ll assume we want to win.

Mike Conley’s the best player on the list. He’s a borderline all-star every year. If the west weren’t ridiculously loaded with point guards, he’d have a few all-star appearances already. He’s my point guard.

As someone who tries not to overthink things too much, i will take the Sixth Man of the Year, Eric Gordon, for my sixth man.

Now I need an SG. McCollum is the best one here as of today. I’m a little worried about the lack of size in my Conley-McCollum-Gordon backcourt, but the most obvious replacements, Booker and Wiggins, aren’t going to improve my defense. I could go with Hill at the 2 for defense, but then I still have a small backcourt, only one that doesn’t score as much. I’ll stick with McCollum.

As for a trade, Booker is probably the most coveted guy but I can only get so much for him due to his rookie contract. Similarly Wiggins might be hard to get equal value for because he’s in a contract year. Bledsoe’s been talked about as the centerpiece of either a Kyrie trade or a Melo trade — that’s a pretty good return. I’ll put Bledsoe on the trading block.

Conley and Booker are my starters with CJ coming off the bench as he can cover both guard spots.

I’m putting Wiggins on the trading block as I think he would get a really good return.

Well. The context of this question means a lot. It’s hard to answer without knowing what the rest of your team looks like and what type of system you are trying to run. Certain players will hold more value to certain teams based on the personnel around them.

In a vacuum, id probably go with Conley and booker as my starters with Wiggins coming off the bench. Since I believe cj would have the most value of anyone left on the board, I’d look to trade him. Of course, this could easily be subject to change if more information was available.

Start: Conley and Booker with McCollom as my 6th man

Trade block: I’m having a tough decision between Bledsoe, Eric Gordon and Wiggins. Bledsoe is being offered up from the Suns for Irving, and we know the Cavs want a young player as well in return and draft picks. That young player would have to play well with Lebron too. However, that potential is mute because this is a fantasy situation. So which player would get back the most regardless of contract and current situation? That Wiggins hands down.
