     TIP OFF

    Do or Die for Spurs.

I’ve got Thunder because their crowd is like a 6th man on the court, so loud and strong.

Spurs looking good.  Their screeners are setting picks quick and the Thunder bigs aren’t hedging off as hard as they did in previous games.  Spurs also screening the screeners to prevent the Thunder from trapping.  You can tell they are a well coached team.

I don’t think the Thunders defense has been completely bad…its just the Spurs are razorSHARPE (see what I did there bro) tonight. Neal hitting a transition 3, $tackJack getting some 3s to fall, and then Tony Parker killing it from the beginning. The Thunder need to find ways to get stops and cut this lead bit by bit. Less jumpers and more attempts at the FT line would be my strategy but first, they have to tighten up defensively.

When you have Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli… You don’t even need to give a speech before the game. These guys know how important this game is.

The Spurs will have to weather the storm of the Thunder’s run eventually, but I think they’ll win this game and force game seven. No way the Thunder can beat them four games straight.

Refs once again sh*t. IF that’s a tech on Stephen Jackson, then LeBron would get ejected every game.

And then they pick on Jackson even more and call him for that bogus charge… Harden living up to his reputation as a flopper.

This is that run I was talking about and so far, Spurs haven’t done a good job weathering the storm. IF Thunder can take the lead in the 3rd, that’d be huge.

I’m sorry, but that wasn’t an offensive foul on Ginobli… Another flop by Harden. Like that’s just an awful call lol. And takes away the made three-pointer from Leonard.

IF the Spurs want to win this game, they’re going to have to beat the Thunder and the refs.

If the spurs lose this game by a point or two we can look back at that flop as a big time game changer.  I know they blew the big lead and that will def be on them but that was terrible.

And can someone explain why a team like the thunder get calls in this series but the opposite is true out east?

That game was FANTASTIC! Durant makes a great case for being the best player in the game right now!!! Thunder are a serious force! They just came back on a team that has Parker playing at a high level, Duncan playing like he’s young and arguably the best coach in the game!

The refs were awful and gave every benefit of the doubt call to the Thunder, BUT…

It’s their time. You don’t go through the Mavs, Lakers and now the Spurs (four times straight!)… And not be destined to win the title.

Kevin Durant is the best player in the NBA.

Indiana basketball I was supporting  the Spurs but that was so obviously a foul.  Ginobili passed it and ran straight into Harden which resulted in Leonard being free to make the shot.  The officiating in that game was not that bad.  Oh and Kevin Durant is not the best player in the NBA.

And that was a charge on Ginobli when Kevin Durant was moving and Ginobli stepped inside? And that was also a charge against Jackson against Harden too? Lol no way.

OKC earned it and made big baskets, but they literally got every benefit of the doubt call that could’ve gone either way.

I’m not a Spurs or Thunder fan. I could care less who wins. I just want to see the best teams advance and the Thunder are the best team. Still got some serious ass homecooking this game though.

Look, I agree that the Thunder got the benefit of some questionable calls, but it didn’t change the outcome of the game.  The Spurs benefitted from a few iffy calls, also, including fouls on Collison off-the-ball and an iffy foul on Perkins for post defense.  I realize you do say that the Thunder earned it; I just think you’re going a little over-the-top with you’re complaints about the reffing.  I didn’t think the reffing was that bad.

i dont know if you guys play basketball or not. but that one where ginobili flicked the ball back to leonard. and set a screen on harden. i seriously thought that was an obvious offensive foul. you cant RUN and set a screen. also, if ive said it once ive said it over and over again. in a couple of years as kevin durant reaches 25-26 years old he will be considered as one of the best players of all time. and  i know some of you disagree but i think he deserved the MVP this year, and i believe he is better then lebron. and no, im not just going off this game, ive said it since the beginning of the season.

I personally think the refs have been inconsistent the entire playoffs. That’s just my opinion. I think the tech on Jackson was weak. And I thought the charge on Jackson was weak. I also thought at least one of those charges on Ginobli was weak. There was a play in the 4th where Perkins layed Jackson out with a screen that should’ve been a foul.

Thunder earned it like I said, but I feel like during key stretches like 3-4 50-50 calls in a row went to the Thunder.

But hey… The Thunder are the better team and I think they deserve it. They play hungry and got better every game of the playoffs it seemed.

Even Tim Duncan just said he felt like the Thunder got every whistle possible.

Kevin Durant has convinced me that he’s the best player in the NBA.

He’s made play after play after play versus the Mavs, Lakers and the Spurs. And I felt he’s gotten better as the game got more intense.

Offensively, his range is unlimited. He can put it on the floor and his right to left crossover is wicked. His mid-range is deadly and he shoots it over the longest length. IF you get too close (like if the big steps up too close as Durant goes around the screen), he goes around you and finishes. He makes the extra pass. His vision has improved. He moves without the ball. He’s playing in the low post more and just turning and shooting over the defender… Over the left or right shoulder. IF you foul him, he’s automatic from the line. I just don’t know if you have an answer for him offensively.

Defensively, he defends wings and bigs. He rebounds the ball. He can get out in transition.

I’m anxious to see him in the Finals against either the Celtics team defense or LeBron James. Both will have their hands full.

IF you don’t think Kevin Durant is the best player in the NBA right now, there’s no doubt you will after the NBA Finals.

Okc is just too young and too good, plain and simple. Great season or the Spurs, no matter what everyone says I know they’ll come back and have a 55 win season, but I don’t think anyone in the West has much of a shot against this team for at least the next decade. And the scary part is that they’ll only get better. And the ironic part is that they had to go through the three teams that have won the West each of the past 13 seasons. Can’t wait to see the Finals, Miami or Boston regardless

Spurs are probably the best coached and best built (in terms of the pieces fitting) team out there. But Duncan is old and way past his prime. Ginobli may be as well. Heck, Parker may be past his prime though you wouldn’t notice it by the way he played this season and the numbers he put up. Kawhi Leanord is just a rookie and figuring things out.

The Thunder have a first ballot Hall of Famer in Durrant who is either in his prime or is going to be so rediculously good that he is going to be a top ten all time player. Then they have a bunch of young athletic guys who are great players (Harden, Westbrook, Ibaka). I think what we saw during this series was a group of great athletes (who also play hard and, for the most part, play smart) who figured out the Spurs sets and plays and developed counters to them. The Thunder could counter the Spurs coaching and schemes because the Thunder had superior athelticism. That has got to be why you toss the regular season stats and results out the door. Because the regular season is about playing one off basketball against a new team every night. The Thunder had a week to disect the Spurs game plan and figure it out. The Thunder got a little lucky with the crazy night that Perkins, Ibaka, and Collinson basically didn’t miss a shot (I think it was 22 for 25 from three guys who don’t have a jump shot between them). But the Thunder were able to go to another level and use their skills to break down the Spurs game plan. Good for them. But great run for the Spurs. They have their three championships and I think they polished the shine on what can be called something of a dynasty.

The Spurs will be back. They played some young guys some major minutes in this run. There is potential growth there that can make them a contender again if Duncan, Parker and Ginobli can fight off father time for another year.

Either Doc or Spo are going to have to eat huge fines in order to shame the refs into calling those illegal screens on Perkins and Ibaka. It is really one of the great reasons Phil Jackson is worth his money because in the playoffs he knew how to work them in games and through the media. It is hard enough to defend Durant and Westbrook under the best of circumstances, so that has to be the one point of emphasis that they ride the refs on from the moment they win the East until the final minute of Game 7.
