Don’t have much time. Did they actually do this? If so, why? Hes a servicable experienced players. Why would a cobtending team do this?

My guess is that his lack of consistent playing time pissed him off and he became a cancer in the locker room….

    again thats just a guess

Let’s all remember – this is the same Capn Jack, a little maturity and age doesn’t change a man. He’s still a loose cannon

Nah, I doubt that. He’s friends with the entire Spurs organization.

Still this can’t be it. They might be signing someone else for the playoff run. Either that, or Kawhi Leonard is about to get his big break.

Best of luck SJax. I hope you get better.

That’s pretty surprising but Stephen Jackson is Stephen Jackson it’s hardly unimaginable that he’d do something that could get him waived.

Pretty surprising. I know he isn’t what he used to be, but he is still a solid player to have coming off the bench in the playoffs. I know he is shooting under .400 percent this year, but he still has veteran experience on the court. Must have been a locker room issue. Doubt he was satisfied with having 6.2 ppg

I’m pretty sure they agreed on his release, per Adrian Wojo on twitter.

It’s really not surprising. He’s been banged up and I think he’s done playing hoops professionally.

Juat really think the Spurs should have waited till after the playoffs for this. Stephon Jackson in the playoffs last year couldnt miss.

Flabbergasting. This really hurts our depth at the wing spot. Kawhi has been bothered by his left knee all season and Gary Neal has had his share of injuries.

They have versatile, interchangeable parts. If Neal, Manu (if healthy) or De Colo comes off the bench Danny Green slides to the 3. They also play a lot of small ball 3 guard sets. It’s not a big loss. Im actually looking forward to seeing more of De Colo play. He’s a nice all-around player.

Have no idea what the San Antonio Spurs are doing…they seem to be trending down. Tony Parker and Manu will come back to the playoffs less than 100 percent Boris Diaw is bothered by a bad back. Just don’t understand this move when it comes to depth in the playoffs. Never can take someone who is experienced for granted IMO

Since he was released this late does it mean that he can or can not get picked up by a playoff team?

He is not eligible. The playoff roster deadline was in March.

Lakers should sign him for the last couple games of the season. At the very least he could give them a very good scouting report for when they play the spurs

If I’ve learned anything from all my years of watching sports, its never doubt anything San Antonio Spurs or New England Patriots do. They somehow make everything work. As weird as this move is, it will probably be the best move to make for reasons I do not know.
