something or nothing?
Nothing, but the media will make a huge deal out of it.
Sounds like further proof Wade is a prima donna, but that's about it. Like Aamir said, though, the media will make a huge deal out of it.
Yep.. Wade get's by with cherry-picking and fastbreaks. Spo just wanted him to try harder on D and he was like "who the F are ? I'm D-Wade." Prima Donna is a perfect description of him.
should not have exploded like that.
He needs to lead his team by example.
Whether it's something or nothing, idk.
I'd be pretty pissed if I was D-Wade's teammate right now.
The guy needs to keep his composure...
...D-Wade calling out Lebron in front of the world last year in the Finals?
That didn't go too well. Jussayin >.>
I agree, whether it was something or nothing is secondary right now, whatever it was, they can regroup and work it out. He should keep his composure and not send the message to his team that they are unraveling at the seams....and you might not want to give your opponent that notion either...especially one who's confidence continues to soar.
I don't get how you say it's "nothing."
What bothers me the most is that these guys are supposed be "leaders." Millions of people watched D-Wade chest bump and back talk his Head Coach tonight, and a good percentage of people viewing were kids. What kind of example is that? Oh.. you don't like what your Coach is saying? Simple solution. Back talk him, act like you're a world beater, whatever you want to do.
It's an absolute joke. I wish SPO had the nuts to just bench him at the start of the next game, but he's too worried about his job status with Riley sitting right behind the bench staring down at him.
Talk about a guy who went from pretty well liked to almost entirely disliked by everyone: D WADE
Its a big deal. When a player yells at his coach it shows huge disrespect and a lack of leadership. Especially when its a guy like D Wade. Hopfully they pull it together as a team, or they might be finished.
Wade is a prima-donna?
Do you know what a prima-donna is? It's when somebody believes they've earned something when they haven't. Dwyane Wade is an NBA Champion and Finals MVP, how is he a prima-donna? How has he not earned the right to say he was at the top of the world one season?
Do you know the definition of a prima-donna?
Wade was just having 1 of those nights when nothing you do goes right,no matter how hard you try..But then have the coach on your a$$ saying you're not trying makes it worse...
Things like that go on so often between a coach and players...If you sit behind the bench during some games and listen to coaches cussing out a player,or a player yelling at a team mate for missing a defensive assignment ,not setting picks or getting a silly foul ...
But i think Spoelstra should be let go after the season..If they had a better x's & o's coach, they'll be so much better..Someone that know how to get the most out of that roster...Lebron and Wade had been begging for Riley to takeover, but i think Riley coaching days are over...
a temperamental person; a person who takes adulation and privileged treatment as a right and reacts with petulance to criticism or inconvenience.
Yeah, I think I've got it.
"privileged treatment as a right"
Don't all superstars get that? Especially when they've earned it with a ring? How has he not earned the privileged treatment?
He can argue at his coach but to yell at him and go back after walking away looks bad.
He's no longer a 25 yr old kid he should know better.
Media will make a big deal out of this instead of focusing on the game though.
Wade had a horrible game and continued from game 2 in which he missed his last 4 shots and some free throws.
Now w/out Bosh if Wade doesn't put up 25-30 pts the Heat are in big trouble.
The other players outside of Chalmers are all washed up vets.
Too bad Miami wasted their cap roo
Also Prima Donna:
"a vain or undisciplined person who finds it difficult to work under direction or as part of a team"
And don't pull out that "he has a ring!" argument. So does Darko. And Adam Morrison. It's best to not call out posters on the site about things that are obviously true (Wade being a whiney prima donna).
Does Darko or Adam Morrison have a Finals MVP.
I hear where you are coming from, but I think you are missing the point. Its not about what he said to Spo....its how he said it. Thats just not a good look and sends the wrong message to his team and fans and the right message to his opponent.
On another note, about Spo benching D-Wade....he may as well send his own message, if they lose this series he is gonna be gone anyway. So he may as well show that he demands some respect and no one man is bigger than the team. It will likely earn him more respect from Riley, and it just may light a fire under the team...and especially D-Wade's azz. I know, unlikely to do happen, but just a thought.
No point in arguing with the dude with D. Wade icon. Pretty obvious where he stands even if it's obviously wrong
D-Wade is the NBA Kanye West.
I'd be ticked off if I was Lebrick's teammate. Can't be easy following the shadow of your Holy Quitness. Also, the Heat are the primadonnas of the NBA. Someone cue the opera singers for next game.
" How has he not earned the right to say he was at the top of the world one season?"
Honestly I hate to say it, but what has Wade done since Shaq left? Nothing more then the lower seeds in the weak Eastern Conference. Anyone else find it kind of weird that all the supposedly bad talent on those heat teams have all become pretty decent? Wright, Cook, Beasly, and Marion have all been playing at a pretty good level since leaving Wade and the Heat.
Barkley said it perfectly the other night when he said that Wade gets a pass that other super stars like LeBron don't get because of that one good year, which many considered the most rigged finals in NBA history.
Wade may be a former Finals MVP, but this was his second punk move of the series, after the Collison check. He is finding the guys who are smaller than him and acting out against them. Classic bully behavior.
D. Wade has always been a little sensitive. I remember back during the NBA Finals vs Dallas, Gary Payton said something to him on the sidelines, and D. Wade got way too sensitive.
But he's too good to mentally check out of a game like this.
Hit it on the head there. D Wade used to be everything I loved about the NBA but now it's just a lot different. His body language and complaining are atrocious. I know I'll probably get killed for this but if the Heat don't win a championship this year, any chance they shop D Wade? I would if I was Miami. The Heat looked like the better team in game 3 at the end of the first quarter with Wade on the bench. It was Lebron, Miller, Battier, Turiaf, and someone else. They just look better with Wade on the bench and Lebron on the floor.
Shaq also mentioned how sensitive Wade was when comparing him to Kobe.
Really bad move by Wade to react like that. I wish he'd have shown a bit more respect to his young coach. Especially if he wasnt getting chewed out for not getting back on D quicker to HIS man. After all the offensive woes? Come on man you're 30 not 13.
