spencer dinwiddie tears acl, out for year
terrible news for the Colorado buffaloes. They got off to nice start this year. Currently ranked 21st. But without Dinwiddie, I think the buffaloes collapse big time and miss the tourney completely. He was the teams best distributor as well as an excellent scorer and defender. Looking at their roster, I just don't see them being able to come close to replacing him.
Some other pac 12 thoughts:
Oregon has lost 3 in a row after starting 13-0 and have dropped out of the AP top 25. With them falling and Colorado losing Dinwiddie, the pac 12 isn't looking quite as strong right now as it did a week ago. ASU is also struggling and Utah shot themselves in the foot big time by losing to a bad Washington st squad.
But on the positive side, UCLA is playing well and had a solid week where they took zona down to the wire then routed ASU. They enter the AP top 25 this week at 25. Cal is playing well and has gotten off to a 4-0 start to conference play and Justin cobbs has really been finding his stride(averaged 20pts...10ast...6reb last week). Washington and Stanford also both continue to be competitive. Stanford in particular is a team that I think has too much talent to not make the tourney. Beating the ducks in Eugene this week was a big win.
