could spencer dinwiddie end up being a lottery pick next season? He’s a 6’6 combo guard who plays for Colorado and should be 1 of the best guards not only in the PAC 12 but the whole country. He was top 10 in the country last year in FTA despite his skinny frame and can score in many ways.

He reminds me of sam cassell.. He could go in the 20″s or early 2nd round.. Maybe he could go earlier if he was more aggressive and not so passive..

I dont think he lacks aggresiveness at all. If you watched some of Colorados games you would see that he is the most aggresive player out there for us, hence why, as OP pointed out, he was top 10 in the COUNTRY in free throws attempted.

I think he’ll focus more on passing this year (as he’s stated a few times and led the team in WUG in assists) and probably be an overall more efficient player. Not sure he’ll break into the lottery but if he can lead Colorado deep into the tournament and score efficiently he definitely has a shot. Sometimes he tries too hard to get the foul and fails to get the call and that’s normally what would hurt his FG%, he actually has a pretty nice jumpshot he just needs to get it to start falling. I see him taking the MVP role for the team this year and stepping it up.

As for how he compares to Burks, they have a pretty similar game but Burks is more of a scorer and I think Dinwiddie is a better passer and has a better jumpshot. Aaron Mckie seemed like a pretty fair comparison.

I also don’t think his frame will allow any more strength without going past his weight of 200 (which I believe he prefers to stay at, but he has said he’s thought about raising it to 210). Should be interesting to see how he’s improved since his summer play and last season.

I’m more curious to see how he produces this year before I’m ready to put him as a lotto or even a top 20 pick. Like many freshmen or sophomores who come out of nowhere, they often vault up draft boards, but to stay up there they have to not only maintain but improve their production.

I think Dinwiddie has a lot of good elements to his game and I do think he’s an NBA player, but he was one of those guys who dismantled bad teams and kind of struggled against better competition.

I’d have him on the cusp of the first round at this point, not a lotto pick. He’s a jack-of-all-trades player with a solid IQ and length, but nothing about him really stands out. He kinda reminds me of Kyle Weaver. If he can become a knock down shooter I think that would help his pro prospects greatly. He’s good off the dribble at the college level but IDK how much of that is translatable since he’s not particularly explosive and he doesn’t have a strong build.
