Are Eric Spolefstra and David Blatt good coaches or are Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh not the only ones who have benefited from a “LeBron Stimulus Package” to boost their career success??

Blatt is a good coach but it’s more a matter of Atlanta not playing well the second half of the season. It’s the exact same as the Pacers last year.

An underdog team gets on a roll early, everyone goes nuts about them and then they lose their focus with the shift in identity down the stretch.

I mean, four All-Stars? Are you kidding me?

I am pretty sure David Blatt didn’t need LBJ  to establish himself as one of the best and most experienced coaches in Europe…

I think Spo is a good coach. Yes to an extent anyone can succeed with LeBron but he did run some pretty interesting positionless basketball stuff on both sides of the court. It’s also pretty noteworthy that his players including LeBron when he was there did / do trust him, I mean when you compare it to how LeBron treats Blatt it’s night and day almost.

Good enough to keep a job in the league, yes. I don’t think he’s that good. Definitely not top 10 material in my opinion.

I can’t help but feel sorry for Blatt. Yes he has a good team so he’s lucky in that regard. But look how much differenly Blatt and Kerr are viewed im not saying Kerr isn’t a good coach but Blatt has handled egos, and media pretty well for a "rookie" NBA coach

Somone’s gotta say it.  Blatt is in way over his head.  His expectations were changed when Lebron signed with the Cavs.  You could’ve been blind and seen the tension between Lebron and Blatt early in the season.  Blatt is a guy who is getting alot of credit for doing a whole lot of nothing.  Watch closely at the Cleveland huddle, Tyronne Lue constantly yells at Blatt and takes control of the huddle, that is when Lebron’s not making the play.  Plus Lebron basically calling out his coach saying he changed the play for that game winning shot against Chicago shows Blatt has no say.  He seems insecure, scared and unprepared for this role.  I personally never seen a coach almost blow a game by calling a time when they didn’t have one….totally uncalled for for an NBA head coach.  Had Lebron not joined the Cavs it’d probably be a different story.  I have a hard time seeing Blatt coach them next year.  Blatt is different than Spoelstra.  Spoelstra proved he could coach before Lebron got there leading the heat with basically just Wade into the playoffs.  This year injuries played a huge role in the Heat’s season.

This is the blessing and the curse of LeBron. No matter how pure his intentions were when returning to Cleveland, the Cavs were put on a time crunch to win now. That means trading away potential franchise cornerstones for potentially one year of good PF. That means not allowing a rookie coach to grow and adjust and readjust.

The Cavs play 50 games on national TV, they are the A topic the night after the play almost every time they play and every decision Blatt makes (certainly not 200 a game) is put under the microscope.

Spoelstra might be a solid coach, Miami was kinda killed by injuries and the talent they did have was definitely built to be around LeBron. Blatt might be a good coach, but we’ll never really know until he has to do it without LeBron.

Blatt’s like a Rick Pitino. Bigger egos than the players.

Par for the course for an Israeli/former American chosenite. Which is why Subprime Dan hired him.

Idk from a schematic standpoint Blatt seems a lot different than Pitino. Pitino’s style is tailor made for college where his teams can dictate pace and feast on inferior athletes.

Maybe I just don’t follow Cleveland closely enough but I dont know where this ego idea comes from with regards to Blatt. He seems fine to me, no more egotistical than any other coach, but again they play on national TV every week and every game they play gets disected on sportscenter the day after so he’s under a major microscope.

I’d say he’s doing pretty well, considering he has the second most critical job in the world next to fighter pilot.
