Ray allen and Rashard lewis  both joined the heat this summer. A duo who experineced "some" success together makeing it to the second round in the west when in seattle together .Does eric spoelstra dig in the sonic archives and look up game tape to to find out how to utilize  these shooters  playing together on  floor?

A line up of lebron-lewis-ray- bosh-wade could be a lights out unit  not a starting 5 but a lights out  unit able to drown teams in points in a hurry creating mismatches all across the board and can bring back some flashes  of rays and rashards best years with the defense allowing them to roam more freely having to deal with the big  3.

How do you think the allen, lewis  pairing will pan out?

ps~ this can also extend  the careers of both players because they dont have to do much but shoot(Even tho I see ray coming off a screens still like he did in boston) and thats coming off the bench.

With his bum knee, I think if he can remain healthy he is a okay contribution. Better than most players the Heat have on the bench. As for Ray Allen, it was the perfect scenario. The Heat wanted a consistent three point shooter, but all they mostly signer were streaky shooters. Well now they have the best 3pt shooter in the league. I think he’ll get more looks than people are thinking. Hell, he might eat up Millers minutes depending on his health.

Rashard Lewis is Mike Miller/James Jones insurance and takes Juwan Howard’s spot as the long-in-the-tooth NBA veteran along for the ride.

Ray Allen will be a nice addition. He can really shoot, not sure though how they can play D Wade (another shooting guard) plus LeBron at the same time. They might have to go small then with Wade at the 3.

Allen should get some open looks but the Heat don’t get the ball movement that the Celtics did. I think what he will do is give them a guy to provide more leadership and veteran play and a guy who can give Wade a rest. If Wade (backed up by Ray Allen) and LeBron (Rashard Lewis?) can play fewer minutes that will really help their chances to defend their title. In this year’s Finals they got some big games from Shane Battier, another one from Mario Chalmers and a HUGE clinching game by Mike Miller. Ray Allen gives them another guy who can break things open. I think he will give them something like 11-12 points a game off the bench with good shooting stats and an assist/rebound or two a night.

I think they have a better second unit next year with Norris Cole at point, Ray Allen at the 2, Mike Miller/Rashard Lewis/James Jones at the 3, Battier at the 4, and Haslem at the 5. That’s actually not a bad second unit, even if it lacks some size inside at power forward and center. I think that team can hold its own and give the Big Three some extended rests on the bench. None of those guys will have huge scoring games night in and night out but they can each give you 8-10 points a game with some smart play and shooting threats from every position.

Rashard Lewis might be a guy like MM was for the Heat in the 2012 playoffs. Before the Finals I thought Mike Miller needed to have two good games. Well in one of the earlier games he hit some shots, drew a charge, and gave some hard fouls for one good game. Then he came through BIG TIME in Game 5. I think Lewis is a guy who can give them one good game or two every series, which may be enough. He is insurance if Allen, Battier, and the other shooters aren’t hitting their shots. If Rashard could play some power forward that would be an added bonus.
