Man...Hill looks alot like Bosh on the court....
knicksboy... it's the hair.
Not like Face...his game. He has the driving game, shooting and post up game pretty well. I think he could be a pre-injury Chris Gatling.
Have you seen Chris Gatling play???? I hope Jordan Hill is not like Gatling....
Gatling was not explosive facing the basket. He was better when he could pound the ball and make some contact with his opponent before using that sweet lefty touch. Hill can face up and either shoot or blow past his man and get to the rim. I think he will be very good player, and in 4-5 years the Grizz will be thinking they wished they took him over Thabeet.
pre-injury...he was not bad...he had a couple injuries that killed him...Hill could be Bosh-like? Maybe a 17-8 guy?
I understand what you trying to say Gatling and Hill are nothing alike.... Hence I was wondering if Knicksboy has every seen Gatling play... Gatling was also a terrible rebounder and a below average defensive player...
OK, who do you compare him too?
Jordan Hill = Lorenzen Wright (and he will have the same type of career)
the difference I see between Wright and Hill is that Wright was kinda stiff when he was making his moves around the basket. One of the things that stands out about Hill is that he can finish around the basket kinda like a wing player. Also, he runs the court well which should be really emphasized in D'Antonni's offense. Hill is by no means a sure thing, but I think he will have a very solid career. The NY fans booing him just shows how little PAC 10 ball they watch. He was a very solid pick once Curry was off the board.
To be honest, i havent see Gatling play but for Hill...
I see like a 12ppg and 5rpg rookie season
for his prime...a 14-19ppg and 5-9rpg type player.
Shareef- Abdur- Rahim like? I dunno maybe a shade under that
I saw the footage of Hill earlier and in the footage he does move like Bosh. Gatling had some good year but did not move like that. Also Lorezen Wright lol are you serious. Hill is nothing like Wright. Wright did not have the perimeter game Hill has and was not as quick or could handle the ball at the level Hill can. Not saying Hill can handle the ball great but he can do in well enough on drives to not look like a stiff. Also in Mike D's offense if he starts, he will average about 15 points and maybe 6-8 boards because they take a lot of shots and play at a faster pace. After looking at Howard in the finals then at Hill. I can see him being very good if can gain a little more weight be cause the athleticism is there.
He dominated my Bruins in the pac 10 a lot. Idk how he'll do but I look forward to seeing him play in new york's system I think he can average around 15 if given over 30 minutes per game. Around 8 boards too he is a very good rebounder.
His athleticism strikes me as a bit less than advertised (and nowhere near the league of Amare, who he's been compared to).
But he does look smoother with the ball than I expected/remembered.
My hope is that he is still in a steep part of his improvement curve, given how late he started playing.
I'm sorry but I dont think that Hill is the sharpest tool in the shed. He also disappears at times unlike Lee. D'Antoni's offense relies on high IQ players so I am hesitant about our picks. We drafted a high rated bigman in a very weak big draft. He has mid to late talent but he had no competition. He didnt show much his sophmore season which shows that the coaching fiasco really hurt him. I doubt he has the mentality to excel on his own. I think he and Darko form an intriguing but mentally weak front court.
Douglas is a decent bench scorer with good defense but very undersized for a 2. We didnt address our PG needs. I thought he was picked too high especially with guys like Brown, Budinger, Mills and Blair on the board. I know Blair doesnt seem to fit but we couldve used his rebounding to make up for the loss of Lee. Not everybody on the floor needs to get out and run. I really hoped we wouldve picked Brown who can play the 4 for us. He is 6'9" with great athleticism and very strong. Budinger wouldve been nice too with his shooting and athleticism and D not being a prerequisite. I give them a B-.
