They expect from him?
I'm happy because I'm seeing that can be a great player, I think it may be the steal of the draft.
I hope for him in his first season: 6-7th man, depending on the health of Granger and 8.8 ppg 3.8 rpg 1.5 apg 0.6 spg 0.4 bpg in 20 to 24 mpg
One summer league game and he is a great player. He won't see the court that much with Gerald Green, Orlando Johnson, Granger, George, Stephenson and Copeland all able to play the 3. I don't think he is much of a 4 so if he averages enough minutes to score 8 a game I will be stunned.
Who said great? One good summer league game convinced you that Khalif Wyatt can fill the vacant scoring need for the 76ers. Hill played an efficient game and his team got the win, for a debut that's pretty impressive whichever way you slice it.
The OP stated that he "showed he can be great"...and while I know he didn't exactly mean that I just wanted to say don't put too much stock in one summer league game.
As for Wyatt making the Sixers because of his scoring ability...I said that before summer league started. I will post the link for you. I don't think he will be anything too special but the Sixers are in such need of scoring I think he will make the team.
I am from Philly and watched a bunch of Temple games so I have more knowledge of his game than just watching one summer league game. The same can be said for Solomon Hill because I actually lived in Tucson for a year when he played at the U of A. They both had impressive games today but it isn't anything to get that excited about in either players case.
I'm with you franfran. This site didn't have Solomon Hill on there mock draft board. Solomon will get some minutes. Gerald Green won't be back in Indy. Granger will be traded during the season and if not Solomon can play behind either Granger or George. Solomon will compete with Stepheson and Orlando for mins in which he should win. The sky is the limited for Solomon
He has a 20 pt game in Summer League and you expect him to win major minutes away from Lance? Stephenson looked awesome in the playoffs last year and looks to really be a key part of that Indiana squad going forward. Don't get too ahead of yourself.
I'm not saying it's going to play more than Lance, I think Lance will starter and Granger 6thman, but if you re-injure Granger, I think Solomon will 6thman
Similar to Miles Plumlee last season, Solomon Hill won't see much time on the floor. He'll be spending a lot of time in the D-League.
in Playoffs, the sixth man was Sam Young, do not understand why they think it can not be this year Solomon (if Granger is injured)
IF Granger goes down, then Chris Copeland will take those minutes.
I'm not sure that Indiana game style Copeland benefit as much as it did in New York, however Solomon, is a guy who has conditions to play tough defense, which is why I think so many good minutes to give Paul George break, moving by the SG, SF and PF
PG: George Hill/CJ Watson/Donald Sloan
SG: Lance Stephenson/Orlando Johnson
SF: Paul George/Danny Granger/Chris Copeland/Solmon Hill/Gerald Green
PF: David West/Miles Plumlee
C: Roy Hibbert/Ian Mahinmi
*I don't know who'll start between Stephenson and Granger.
Unless there are some injuries, I don't see how Hill will see consistent minutes. Between George, Granger, Stephenson and Copeland, there won't be very many minutes left.
It SHOULD be Granger and it's not even close.
Solomon Hill is like a rich man Sam Young imo!!
I like Solomon Hill as a player but I agree with those saying his minutes will be limited next year. He is a very solid player and I think he will stick in the league because of his basketball IQ, but I don't see him playing a ton next year.
I also think Copeland will fit in well in Indy off the bench, as it was clear during the playoffs that they were lacking shooters. Stephenson and George are good creators at the 2 and 3 spots and Hibbert is a good passing center, so I think they will open things up for Chris Copeland on the perimeter.
I think the reason they took Solomon was because 1. There wasn't a better player available (who would fit with their team) 2. They clearly don't want to keep Granger and his 14 million 3. They saw how well Kawhi did against Lebron as we know you can't stop him but you can slow him down and Solomon has the build and style to be a good match up and pair him with Paul and their defense should do well.
That's why i love this board because its funny. This board didn't have Solomon getting drafted in there mock draft. Go to the summer league and read what scouts are saying about Solomon. "Solomon will get minutes this year not one or two years from now but next year". Solomon will get minutes in more than one position. The GM and Bird thinks Solomon will get minutes. Sec unit may look like this CJ Watson, Orlando Johnson, Solomon Hill, Chris Copeland and Miles Plumee
