Plumlee clearly the tallest? nba draft measurements 7’0.5”

DMC and Drummond looks nearly identical, and Anthony Davis somewhere in between (hard to tell because of his new hairstyle lol)

So does that mean his newest rumoure measurements of 7feet 7’7 wingspan might be correct?

I saw him next to Kevin Durant and Kevin Durant is 6’11 or 6’10 and Anthony Davis looks a inch or two taller.

DeMarcus Cousins and Andre Drummond are both listed at 6’10.

The NBA lost players height in weigh when they are 18 19 20 years old and at those ages they can still grow. I would like the NBA to update player measurements every year so fans can be updated.

He might have grown an inch. Davis measured 6’10.5” in shoes at the combine, and I think he could very well be 6’11.5” now, but he’s still clearly shorter than Plumlee, who is only 7’0.5” and hit the league at 23, so I doubt he grew any since the 2013 combine.

He does seem to be taller than both Cousins and Drummond, who measured respectively 6’10" and 3/4 and 6’11" and 3/4 at the combine, so yeah, he might have grown up a little. It has also to be said though that Drummond went to the combine wearing monster heel shoes (he was 6’9" and 3/4 barefoot), so some of the difference might partly be explained with different shoes, or loose posture by one or another of the guys in the pic, but yeah, apparently he’s a bit taller.

My best guess is that they don’t update the stats over time is that it really doesn’t matter once you get into the league – you can play or you can’t. Height is all marketing at that point. They do seem to keep up on weights a little better. One interesting story about Bill Walton is that he always asked to be listed at 6′ 11" even though he was over seven feet. He just felt there was a stigma attached to that size and he wanted to avoid it.

I didn’t know that about Walton. KG did the same thing as well, for the similar reasons.

AD should want the height stigma he has zero skills besides his height. I think he will turn out to be a better Deandre Jordan but not a franchise center piece.

I have heard the Walton stories.  K.C. Jones would take about that, and he would say that Parish was maybe half an inch over seven feet but that Walton was taller than Parish.

No one grew. Drummond/Cousins/Davis all measured within 0.5 inches of each other barefoot. Any difference in that photo can easily be attributed to their current shoes, slouching, or haircut (Davis has a little fro going on).

    Barefoot heights:

    Drummond is 6’9.75"

    Cousins is 6’9.5"

    Davis is 6’9.25"

I think it’s a joke that Rudy Gay and Kenneth Faried are both listed as 6’8”. Rudy looks a good 3-4 inches taller

I like to judge height by the shoulders which makes a higher standing reach and davis’ shoulders look about a half an inch higher than dmc and Drummond

That’s a pretty poor way to judge height. People are built differently, have longer necks, torsos, and legs. You can have 3 people the exact same height at the top of their heads have their shoulders an inch apart, and the guy with the highest shoulders isn’t taller than the other two.

In this photo, Mason Plumlee’s shoulders are at a lower height than Cousins’ but it’s very clear he’s the tallest guy in the photo. Dude just has a long neck.
